Tata Nexon EV has been the top selling electric vehicle in India. The addition of EV variant of their Tigor EV even boosted the sales further. Now the carmakers will bring Nexon EV with extended range in the coming few days. Here are top 5 things to know about Nexon EV SUV with higher range:
Not much will change on inside or outside of Nexon EV in it’s long range model. There will be certain tweaks to the bumpers, headlamps design and side cladding. Interior will witness a different seat upholstery pattern.
As compared to 312 km range and 30.2 kWh battery of standard Nexon EV, long range iteration will plonk 40 kWh battery with claimed range of more than 400 kms. What more helps to enhance the range is selectable regen modes, which allows drivers to actually adjust the intensity of regen braking.
To accomodate a bigger battery, the carmakers will slightly tweak Nexon EV’s base as well. At the same time, cargo area currently at 350 litres will also be compromised.
Tata Nexon EV Long range will get updated with new features like air purifier, ESP, cruise control, park mode, front ventilated seats among others.
Standard Nexon EV is priced between Rs 14.54 lakh and Rs 17.15 lakhs (Ex Showroom). Expect a hike of around Rs 3 lakh over this.
While the standard Nexon EV doesn’t have any direct rival, long range version of sub compact electric SUV will lock horns with MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. The new Nexon EV will be sold alongside the existing electric SUV.
Tata Motors unveiled Curvv Coupe EV Concept few days back and they also are going to introduce another product meant for global market on April 28. In between this, Nexon EV Long range will be launched, most probably on April 20, 2022.
Petrol engine in Harrier, Safari is due for launch along with Altroz & Tiago EV which is expected on go on sale by the end of this year.
