Toyota is planning to launch all new 5 seater SUV and 7 seater MPV in next 3 years in price bracket of Rs. 10 L – Rs. 15 L
Toyota has enjoyed a lot of success with it’s Innova Crysta and Fortuner SUV.Recently, they have entered into an agreement with India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, to step into the highly competitive segment.As a result of their alliance, Toyota will supply their premium Corolla Altis sedan to Maruti Suzuki while the latter will be giving it’s highest selling models, Baleno and Brezza to Toyota.
The Toyota based Baleno, Brezza and Maruti based Altis have been confirmed for India launch in FY2019-20.First of them, will be the Toyota badged Baleno.All these cars will be coming up with the same platform as well as the powertrains while certain cosmetic changes and features updates will be made to keep it different from the standard models.
So this was all about the result of alliance of Toyota and Maruti Suzuki.Along with this, Toyota also has plans to give it’s Etios and Etios Liva a major upgrade this year.Recently, Toyota launched its new generation Camry Hybrid Electric sedan with top class features and the luxurious sedan is receiving good response in the market as well.
We all know that the SUV segment is growing and growing.More and more car makers are trying to enter into this segment with it’s best possible combination.Even two new brands are coming to India this summer and are debuting with a SUV as well.
As per the latest report, apart from Baleno and Brezza, Toyota has plans to bring all new 5 seater SUV that will rival Creta and also a 7-seater MPV in the price bracket of Rs. 15 Lakhs – Rs. 20 Lakhs.Both these cars will be based on monocoque chases.While the name of both these new cars have not been decided yet, but it is likely to be called Rush.
Toyota Rush have already been in the international market for a long time and is doing quite well.The Indian-spec version of Rush is expected to be launched in India in 2021-22.It will come with full hybrid powertrains and will become Toyota’s most cheapest car to get hybrid unit.
The price of Rush SUV will be between Rs. 11 Lakhs – Rs. 16 Lakhs while the Rush based 7-seater MPV will cost around Rs. 18 Lakhs.At this bracket, they are a number of rivals that the two new cars will counter including Kia SP SUV, Hyundai Creta 2020, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and New Maruti Vitara SUV.
