The compact SUV segment will be joined by a couple of new cars in the next few months

Nissan Magnite will be first sub compact SUV to arrive in India after the lockdown is lifted.The carmakers have recently discontinued a number of their existing variants and currently have only two cars in their lineup.
The Magnite has been spied testing on multiple occasions and what differentiates it from the rest is its competitive pricing.The compact SUV by Nissan India will carry a introductory price of Rs. 5.25 L.
It will be available with 1.0 litre 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine with 99 bhp of power and 172 nm of torque and this unit will soon find its way to the Triber MPV as well.Magnite will be available with both 5 speed manual and automatic gearbox.There won’t be any Diesel engine available for the car.
In terms of features, it will boast first in segment 360 degree camera, digital instrument cluster, 15 inch alloys, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, push start stop button with keyless entry, projector headlamps with LED DRLs among others.
The Japanese sub compact SUV will be launched in India in August 2020 and will take on Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Honda WR-V, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport.
2. Kia Sonet

Second car by the South Korean carmakers for the year after the Kia Carnival will be Kia Sonet sub compact SUV.The carmakers have also recently teased the sub4 metre SUV in a teaser video.
Kia Sonet features LED headlamps with LED DRLs and Kia’s signature tiger nose front grille.It rides on 16 inch diamond cut alloys while the rear section of the SUV is something that will immediately grab your attention.It gets long strip of connected LED tail lamps.Big front and rear bumpers, large size roof rails further gives it a SUV stance.
Dual tone as well as single tone interior theme will be available.The cabin gets a massive and biggest in class 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system.The interior looks quite similar to recently unveiled 2020 Kia Sorento.
Feature list includes Electric Sunroof, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic ac and rear ac vents, UVO Connect, tilt and telescopic steering, cruise control, push start button with keyless entry, first in segment ventilated seats and Bose premium sound system.Top Safety features are ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, rear demister, electronic stability control, hill start assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, reverse parking camera.
It will be offered with the same set of engine options as of Venue – 1.0 GDI turbo petrol (118 BHP / 172 NM) with 6 Speed Manual and 7 Speed DCT, 1.2 L MPI Petrol (82 BHP / 115 NM) and 1.5 L U2 CRDi Diesel (99 BHP / 240 NM) with 6 Speed Manual and 6 Speed Torque Converter Automatic.
It will be priced between Rs. 7 L and Rs. 12 L, around Rs. 50,000 costlier than Hyundai Venue.As per the latest news, Kia Sonet will be launched in India in the last week of August 2020 or first week of September 2020.
3. Toyota Urban Cruiser

Toyota rebadged Vitara Brezza, Urban Cruiser, unlike the Glanza, will get certain cosmetic updates inside out including revised headlamps, front grille, bumpers and seat upholstery fabrics.
Under the hood, it will carry forward the same engine powering the Vitara Breeze, that is, 1.5 L K15B Mild Hybrid petrol engine with 103 BHP @ 6000 RPM and 138 NM @ 4400 RPM.It will get the option of 5 speed manual and 4 speed torque converter automatic transmission.However, the mild hybrid is available with only automatic transmission while Urban Cruiser will get the SHVS technology for the transmission options.
Along with cosmetic upgrades, Toyota India will also offer better warranty package with the Urban Cruiser.In terms of pricing, Toyota Urban Cruiser will undercut Maruti Vitara Breeza by a price margin of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 15,000 depending upon the variant.
The launch of Toyota Urban was earlier expected to be in Q2 2020 but has been delayed due to coronavirus pandemic.Now the compact SUV will be added to the Toyota range in India in November 2020.
