2018 has been a successful year for the automobile industry.This year witnessed a number of car launches including their facelift as well as new generations as well.We also expect the same for the year 2019.Next year two new car makers would enter the Indian market and as the BS-VI will kick in, stricker safety norms for cars would also be there in place.A number of electric vehicles are also in queue for their launch in 2019.Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and other luxury brands will be launching a number of cars this year.But for now, we would cover only the two new Maruti cars that are going to be launched In January 2019.
UPCOMING MARUTI CARS IN JANUARY 2019 IN INDIA
1. 2019 New Maruti WagonR
Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been a successful product for MSIL since it’s launch.It has received quite a few updates over it’s life span.WagonR has remained consistent at around 14,000 units sales per month.But now Maruti Suzuki has decided to give a generation update which would make way to India in January 2019.
The current WagonR is a 4th generation hatchback and the one that will be launching in around 30 days of time will be a 6th generation one.The skipping of one generation is due to Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program with stricter crash test regulations.The New generation WagonR will get a number of standard safety features including front dual airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors in order to comply with stricter BS-VI safety norms and regulations.
Exterior of the hatchback will receive major updates in the form of big headlamp unit in the front which will be slightly more rounder than the present model.The front grille of 2019 WagonR will be treated with chrome accents with the front bonnet becoming slightly curvier.WagonR will continue with tall body design.Large glass area will continue even in the 2019 WagonR.Floating roof similar to Ertiga will be added to the New WagonR.The design of the wheels could be made a bit more stylish.Sharp cuts and creases at the fenders as well doors will add to the character of the hatchback.A thick chrome applique runs across the top of the number plate with the tail lamps being pillar mounted adding to the sharpness of the hatchback and making it look more appealing.
It is expected to based on the same platform with slight tweaks so that it meets the new stricter safety norms.In terms of specifications, it will grow in length as well as wheelbase from the outgoing model.
Interior of the hatchback will draw inspiration from Swift, Dzire and Ertiga.With premium black and beige dual tone cabin, it will be loaded with tons of features.With an increase in length and wheelbase from previous generation, the space on the inside will be improved although the ongoing WagonR offers stadium space on the inside.The seats which will be slightly bigger will continue to be high on comfort with the bootspace of the car also increases.
Top notch features will be offered including 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with all the connectivity options, steering mounted bluetooth and audio controls, multi-informative MID, cooled glovebox and much more.Safety features list will include Rear defogger, Reverse parking sensors with camera, fog lamps, EBD, keyless entry for the top variant.

2019 WagonR will be powered by the current BS-IV 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine which will be tuned for enhanced performance.AMT as well as CNG will be offered for the next-generation WagonR. New WagonR 2019 will be sold through the Maruti Arena dealership and will be launched in India on January 23, 2019.Bookings of the car will begin in early January.The Price of the hatchback is expected to be between Rs. 4.3 Lakhs and Rs. 5.5 Lakhs.WagonR will rival with New Santro, Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid.

2. Maruti Baleno Facelift 2019
Maruti Baleno, which is the fastest car to reach 3,00,000 mark sales, is the hatchback segment leader.Without any major addition, it has continued to make it’s position in top 5 highest selling cars list every month.Baleno has appealing exteriors and has all the bells and whistles including HID headlamps with LED DRLs, keyless entry, steering mounted controls, 7-inch Infotainment system, reverse parking camera, auto ac, 16-inch alloys, auto dimming IRVM, rake and reach steering adjustment and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs.It sports all black sporty interior with loads of space inside the cabin.
For a few days of now, spy shots of Baleno facelift has started to emerge.In terms of exterior design, a few tweaks will be made to the front and rear bumper to make it look more appealing.The design of the alloys for the Alpha trim will be made more stylish.One major addition to the exterior will be shark finn antenna for the top variants.New Colour scheme are also expected to be introduced.Coming to the interior, features add-on expected is leather seats for the top variants.
Standard safety feature list which includes Anti-theft security system, Front disc brakes, Dual horn, Headlamp levelilng, Driver side seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX child mounts and Central locking will get reverse parking sensors, ABS, EBD and High Speed Alert System.Top Variant of Baleno is already loaded with top-notch safety features including Rear Defogger, Reverse Parking Sensors with Camera, 2 Airbags, Auto Headlamps, Auto Dimming IRVM.
Since it is facelift model, it will not get any changes in dimensions or in engines on offer.Baleno Facelift 2019 will be offered with present 1.2-litre petrol engine with 83 BHP and 115 NM of torque.The transmission options will be 5 speed manual and CVT.The tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS engine makes 190 NM of torque and will be mated to 5-speed manual gearbox.
Coming to the launch, it is expected to be launched by Late January 2019.The prices of 2019 Baleno Facelift is expected to be between Rs. 5.7 Lakhs and Rs. 8.8 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom).
