Skoda Auto India currently have four cars in their lineup – Rapid 1.0, Karoq, Superb and Octavia RS 245. Skoda Rapid with BS 1.0 TSI petrol engine was launched in India in May 2020 ditching the 1.6 L TSI petrol and 1.5 L TDi diesel. Skoda Auto India launched the Rapid 1.0 TSI between the price tag of Rs. 7.49 Lakhs and Rs. 11.79 Lakhs (Ex Showroom) but as of now it is offered with just manual gearbox.

- 6 speed AT is likely to remain limited to certain variants including Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. The fuel economy will also come down a bit from 18.97 kmpl for the manual counterpart to 18.5 kmpl for the automatic Rapid.

Skoda petrol range was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Superb facelift has got a 2.0 litre TSI petrol engine and now their flagship SUV in India is all set to get the old Diesel engine replaced with new petrol engine.
Kodiaq was available with 2.0 litre TDI Diesel engine upto March 2020. The output figures are 148 Bhp and 340 Nm. It was available with 4 wheel drive as standard with claimed mileage of 16.25 kmpl. This engine option is now discontinued and replaced by 2.0 TSI petrol.

Skoda’s Octavia was not updated to the BS 6 compliance as it was going to be replaced by the new generation of the sedan but due to corona virus pandemic, the introduction of New Octavia earlier scheduled for October 2020 has now been shifted to February 2021.
4th generation Skoda Ocatvia has got 3D front butterfly grille which was grown in size with thicker surrounds. The headlamp unit is much more sharper than before and gets twin L-shaped LED DRLs. Chrome has been used on the lower end of the bumper with the LED turn indicators connected by a sleek chrome strip.

Skoda Vision IN will be brought to India under the group’s ‘India 2.0’ strategy for which they have invested one billion euros for setting up an engineering centre and bringing in localised products underpinned by the MQB platform and we can expected 90-95% localisation of parts for the Czech SUV.
Skoda Vision IN will be the first car of this project for Skoda in India. It will join the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun and many more to follow with Ford, Mahindra, Haval entering the segment soon.
Skoda Vision IN looks quite striking in terms of looks and design. Upfront, the upcoming Skoda SUV features Butterly front grille and illuminated Skoda logo above it. Split type projector headlamps are provided. Uniquely designed skid plates are available at the lower bumpers which has got air dams.
Strong character lines flows along with sides. Black cladding is provided over the wheels and on the sides along with big size roof rails. Alloy wheel is expected to be 16 or 17 inches. Coming to the rear end, Vision IN features L-shaped LED tail lamps and Skoda lettering between the tail lights. Skid plates are available even at the rear with big size bumper.
Skoda have always worked to give a premium interior to its car and Vision IN won’t be any different. It gets new flat bottomed steering wheel, dual screen setup with 12.3-inch size of both of them. There will be a total of two engines on offer initially with a Petrol-CNG bi-fuel introduced at a later stage. Diesel motor won’t be the part of the lineup.
- 1.5 litre 4 cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine makes 148 BHP and 250 NM of peak torque. Available in the mid an higher trims, this mill will get the option of only 7 speed DSG with top speed set at 195 kmph. It does 0-100 kmph in just 8.7 seconds.
- 1.0 litre TSI 3 cylinder petrol unit makes 108 BHP and 175 NM of torque. It can be had with 6 speed manual and 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This unit is also used in Skoda’s C-segment sedan, the Rapid.

New generation Skoda Rapid will be launched in India under the Skoda’s ‘India 2.0 project’ in which the carmakers will focus on the high localisation of the parts which not only bring down the overall pricing of their cars but also the maintenance cost will be cheaper than before.
The sedan currently built on the PQ25 platform will now be get a new chassis. The upcoming mid size sedan by Skoda in India will be underpinned by MQB A0 platform.In terms of dimensions, the sedan will grow 100 mm longer with a slight increase in width and height of the sedan as well.
