In the month of March, Toyota introduced new gen Glanza and Hilux pickup truck in the country. Now the carmakers have products in various segments to be introduced soon. Here are all the details of upcoming Toyota cars in India 2022:
Toyota Glanza CNG is expected to be launched in the month of June this year. Also Baleno’s CNG iteration is yet to be launched.
To be offered in mid variants – S (in petrol it cost Rs 7.29 L) and G (in petrol, its costs Rs 8.24 L, Ex sh), customer opting for CNG trim, have to shell out extra approximately Rs 90,000.
There won’t be any cosmetic updates. Poewr output will be 75 BHP and 97 NM of peak torque. Claimed mileage will be around 30 km/kg.
New generation of Brezza based Toyota compact SUV will go on sale by July this year, post the introduction of updated Brezza which is expected to be launched just before its Toyota’s iteration.
Like we have seen with New Glanza, Urban Cruiser will also major undergo cosmetic updates in coherence with other Toyota cars, to have a unique identity. On the inside too, Toyota’s version is likely to have different environment theme.
Engine options will also be carry forwarded from Brezza. 1.5-litre K15C, recently introduced in Ertiga, will power the SUVs. It generates 101 BHP and 136.8 NM of torque. Gearbox choices are 5 Speed MT & 6 Speed AT. CNG will be made available a couple of months post the launch.
Top features are electric sunroof, cruise control, 9” touchscreen system with Alexa, wireless phone connectivity, paddle shifters, heads up display, 360 degree camera, connected car tech, wireless charging among others.
Just like before, Toyota Urban Cruiser would offer better warranty package. As of now, Urban Cruiser comes in variants based on V, Z and Z+ trims of Brezza. But now, the carmakers will also make it available based on Brezza’s LXI trim.
Expected price is Rs 8 lakhs and Rs 11.60 lakhs (All Prices – Ex Showroom).
Land Cruiser deliveries will commence from August 2022. Bookings started in February this year has now been temporarily stopped owing to semi conductor issue.
Land Cruiser 300 will be brought to Indian shores via the CBU shores and is expected to carry price sticker of more than Rs 1.5 Cr (Ex Showroom).
The high end off road received update last year and looks brawnier and sportier than before. It gets bigger chrome grille, sleek headlamps, flared wheel arches, snazzy alloys and LED tail lights.
Top highlights inside the dual tone cabin are dashtop infotainment system, chunky leather wrapped steering wheels, wooden accents and silver garnish in galore along with multiple switches for controlling various system.

Based on new GA-F platform, the SUV sees a weight reduction of 200 kgs. There are two engine options available internationally. Firstly, diesel engine will be introduced and later the SUV will get hold of petrol powertrain.
V6 petrol engine is a 3.3-litre engine makes 409 BHP and 650 NM of torque. 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo diesel unit produces 304 BHP and 700 NM of torque. Both are paired to 10 speed automatic gearbox.
Toyota and Maruti will jointly develop a mid size SUV targeted at Creta, Seltos and others. It will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant.
It will be first reach the Toyota dealership and then within a span of just couple of weeks, will be launched with Maruti badge.
Unlike the previous cars, these two SUVs will have contrasting differences on the inside as well as outside to ensure a unqiue identity.
Length, width, height, wheelbase are 4,275 mm, 1,880 mm, 1,640 mm and 2,700 mm respectively. More aspects will be revealed as we move closer to the official launch.
Expect a higher safety quotient of 4 to 5 stars with these two SUVs. DNGA platform, meant for emerging markets, will be the one forming the base of Maruti Suzuki & Toyota’s upcoming SUVs.
Talking about engine specs, the SUVs will will have a hybrid setup like the Camry and recently unveiled City sedan, which will result in excellent fuel economy of close to 25 kmpl.
The SUVs would find themselves in driver’s seat thanks to availability of umpteen features. Some key equipments are 6 airbags, HUD, 360 degree camera, wireless charger, 9” touchscreen system, wireless apple carplay, android auto, front ventilated seats, connected car tech, digital cluster among others.
The pricing of the upcoming SUVs will be on a higher side as compared to direct rival thanks to hybrid system. Expected price bracket is Rs 12 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (Ex Showroom).
The biggest launch of the year has been vouched to happen by festive season this year.
