Hyundai Creta Long Term Review

Hyundai Creta has been one of the highest selling SUV.It was launched back in July 2015.Hyundai has been selling nearly 10,000 units of Creta every month. This is Creta long term review.

Exterior

Hyundai creta is based on Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design. The front section of Hyundai creta looks muscular and bold.3 slat chrome grille along with silver skid plates at the front makes it quite stylish.Although the design of the front has been inspired from Santa Fe,vertically place fog lamps and DRLs adds to the character of the SUV.Moving to the side,Creta sits on 17-inch diamond alloys.

Interior

Black and beige premium interior with excellent fit and finish quality along with soft touch material are used. The SUV is very practical with lots of small cubby holes areas. The efficiency of air-con is superb.Automatic unit of air-con has cluster ioniser which don’t allow any bad smell or odour to enter into cabin.Infotainment system is responsive and very bright even in case of direct sunlight. The MID does not display mileage, which we have to check manually. Also Read:Creta 2018 Facelift Launch date,Price,Features,Specifications,Interior,Exterior

Space and Comfort

Th front seats are comfortable offering good lumbar support.Rear seats can adjust 3 passengers without any fuss.Although the shorter passengers might find the rear windows a bit smaller.A/C vent has been provided at the back which more acts like an A/C than a blower.Rear seats offer good back support.Rear armrest with cupholders, front armrest, adjustable front and rear headrest(3 adjustable headrest at the back seats)adds to the comfort all the more. Also Read:New Amaze 2018 Variants Explained-E,S,V and VX MT and CVT Features,Specs

Performance

Petrol engine doesn’t feel powerful at initial acceleration but it catches pace early. The best about this engine is that we can amble around quite easily at low speeds without shifting gears again and again.

1.4L has an excellent fuel efficiency with decent punch. It is the same engine powering elite i20 but it is tuned for the creta.1.4 motor might not be as fun to drive. But is is certainly for the one who is looking for a SUV with excellent mileage and fair output figures.

1.6L diesel is the most powerful among all.The moment you put your foot down on acceleration paddle,it gives humongous amount of power. If you love to rev, then this is the engine you should look for.Creta’s Diesel engine is also relatively silent as compared to it’s rivals.

Mileage

The 1.6L manual petrol motor was churning out a mileage of 9-11kmpl in city traffic,8-9kmpl for the 1.6L AT.On wider roads and highways,Creta gave us a mileage of between 12-14kmpl for the manual one while 12kmpl for AT transmission.

Mileage of 1.4L petrol was between 15-17kmpl in normal city congestion. While on highways,a high average of 18-20kmpl was reported.

In Creta Long term review, 1.6L diesel manual gave us a mileage of 12-13kmpl in town and AT generated a mileage of 10-11kmpl.17-18kmpl was the figure estimated for 1.6L diesel manual while the AT was giving stable average of 13-14kmpl.

Ride and handling

Suspension is a bit on softer side.As you move around the corners, you could feel sharp bumps. But anyways,it doesn’t make us uncomfortable at all.Ride is stable and well balanced.Steering is light at initial speeds and carry certain weight as speed goes up.Creta is perfect for city driving.Talking about highways,it can do triple digits easily without hesitating.High speed stability is also very good.

Price

The price of Hyundai Creta starts at Rs. 9.29Lakhs to Rs. 13.07Lakhs(Ex-Showroom,Delhi) for petrol.Pricing for diesel begins at Rs.10Lakhs and goes upto Rs. 14.68Lakhs for the diesel top end model.
