CItroen on August 2nd unveiled the production-version of the Basalt and then a week later, shocked the automobile industry with the starting price of Rs. 7.99 Lakhs. Now, they’ve gone ahead and revealed the full pricing of the SUV.

• Available with 2 Engine Options – 1.2 L Petrol and 1.2 L Turbo Petrol.

Variants Prices

Citroen is offering the Basalt SUV in 3 variants – You, Plus and Max. Prices ranges from Rs. 7.99 – 13.62 Lakh. Dual-tone option only available with Max variants at additional Rs. 21,000.

Design and Powertrain

The Citroen Basalt’s design stays true to its initial sketches, with matte plastic cladding replacing the typical gloss black, giving it a distinctive edge. Built on the same platform as the C3 Aircross, the Basalt shares a familiar front fascia but stands out with the introduction of projector headlamps—a first for Citroen’s C-Cubed models in India.

The vehicle is characterized by squared-off wheel arch cladding, a pinched window line, and a smooth roofline. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and retains the pull-type door handles from the C3 Aircross. At the rear, a contoured tailgate, 3D-effect halogen tail lamps, and a dual-tone bumper in black and silver further enhance its unique appearance.

Inside, the Citroen Basalt receives several upgrades that elevate its comfort and functionality. The new HVAC panel features digital readouts and toggle switches, complemented by automatic AC—an improvement over the manual AC in the C3 Aircross. Other enhancements include a larger front armrest with built-in storage, restyled rear headrests, and adjustable thigh support for the rear bench seat.

The boot offers a generous 470 litres of capacity, and rear AC vents ensure added comfort. High-spec variants boast a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a three-spoke steering wheel, a 15W wireless smartphone charger, and connected car technology. The interior design is further refined with Citroen’s C-Cubed motifs, combining gloss black and textured surfaces to create a premium atmosphere.
