The absence of vehicles descending was attributed to the Creta driver, who was slowly navigating downhill with both the driver and co-passenger doors open, obstructing the path for other motorists behind them. Bikers found it challenging to maneuver through the narrow space to overtake the sluggish SUV. The person who shared the video emphasized, “Kindly don’t create a menace in Manali – Solang – Atal Tunnel.”
In Himachal, tourists causing inconvenience to locals is unfortunately not uncommon. Instances abound where social media influencers have crossed limits in the name of enjoyment. One influencer faced arrest for drinking alcohol in the middle of a road in Himachal Pradesh, and videos surfaced of tourists from the Delhi NCR region dancing while standing out of the sunroof of a moving SUV.
Returning to the specific incident, the short video circulated rapidly on the internet, prompting many to urge local authorities to intervene. Responding swiftly after discovering the video on social media, the police issued a Rs 3,500 fine against the vehicle for violating traffic regulations and causing inconvenience to other road users.
