Honda Elevate against the Honda City!

Honda had globally premiered the Elevate SUV in June but is yet to announce the pricing of the SUV. However, we know everything about the SUV and we thought of comparing it against the model it’s based on, Honda City to see if the Elevate is worth buying over the City!

Honda Elevate vs Honda City – Design

From the outside, the Elevate has a front grille with small rectangular blocks pattern on it with Honda logo at the center, LED headlamps and two round fog lamps underneath, a large chrome element that connects with the headlamps, and a flat bonnet with few cuts and creases. The bumpers are finished in faux silver skid plate. The Elevate share’s the design cues with the HR-V SUV that is sold overseas. Moving to the side, it has slightly flared wheel arches for a chunky SUV, chrome door handles, non-functional roof rails, and rides on 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, it has a L-shaped LED taillamps with dual lines inside them, roof spoiler on top with shark fin antenna, and an indentation around the number plate housing.

From the front, the City has a hexagonal grille with chrome bar jointing with the LED headlamps. The bumper at the front and rear diffuser bumper are wrapped in carbon, and cuts on the bonnet to give City a sporty look. Moving to the sides, it has 16-inch alloy wheels with chrome door handles and slight cuts on the body as well. At the rear, it has boot-lip spoiler on the tailgate with LED taillamps and shark-fin antenna on top.

From the inside, it has a 10.25-inch free-standing infotainment system with rectangular AC vents below and at the sides, and below the automatic climate control is the wireless charging pad and two USB charging ports next to it on the right, and below that is two cupholders. The Elevate uses soft touch leather materials on the dashboard, leather for the seats, and on the doors. The Elevate has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with 7-inch instrument cluster as well. The push start/stop button is placed on the left next to the infotainment system behind the steering wheel. Moving to the rear, the seats are split in 60:40 ratio and has 8-speaker premium surround sound system.

The City has a 8-inch infotainment system placed between the two AC Vents and the AC vents at the sides are placed vertically. It has the dual-tone dashboard option with leather seat upholstery. The City has three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with Semi-Digital instrument cluster, and a single-pane sunroof. It has two USB ports at the front and rear, sliding arm rest, and traction control button on the right side next to the push start/stop button. At the rear, the City has a 60:40 ratio split seat and 8-speaker premium surround sound system.

So, from the outside, the Honda City looks very spacious and luxurious while the Elevate also looks spacious but the City excels in exterior design. From the inside, however, the Elevate looks spacious and premium which is the same for the City, but the Elevate looks a bit more techy and premium.
