Honda’s first Compact SUV, Elevate sold 27,656 units in 2024. The SUV was decently equipped with features while having a competitive pricing!

The Honda Elevate recorded total sales of 27,656 units in 2024. Despite being a new entrant in the mid-size SUV segment, its sales fluctuated throughout the year. While the Elevate offers good performance with its 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine and a decent feature set, it struggles to stand out against competitors that offer more advanced technology, premium interiors, and hybrid powertrains.

Honda Elevate Sales in 2024

January started strong with 4,586 units, making it the best-selling month for the Elevate. Honda announced it’ll increasing the pricing of the SUV by Rs. 58,000. February saw a sharp decline to 3,184 units (-30.6 percent), followed by a minor recovery in March with 3,277 units (+2.9 percent).

April recorded the steepest drop, with sales falling to 1,731 units (-47.2 percent). Honda in April announced it’ll make 6 airbags standard for all variants improving safety for all occupants. Additionally, they also again increased the price of the SUV by Rs. 40,000. May continued the decline, reaching 1,553 units (-10.3 percent). June saw a strong recovery, climbing to 2,151 units (+38.5 percent).

July sales dipped again to 1,340 units (-37.7 percent), but August saw a bounce back with 1,723 units (+28.6 percent). The trend continued upward in September, reaching 1,960 units (+13.8 percent). At this time given it was the festive season, Honda launched the Apex Edition to help boost the sales. In October, the sales were 2,149 units (+9.6 percent) followed November recorded the highest sales in the second half of the year at 2,334 units (+8.6 percent).

December saw another decline, closing the year at 1,668 units (-28.5 percent), likely due to year-end stock clearance and anticipation of new launches in 2025.

Reasons for Honda Elevate’s Sales Fluctuations

The Honda Elevate delivers good performance with its 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine and offers a comfortable driving experience. However, it lacks hybrid or diesel engine options, which many buyers prefer in this segment. Additionally, while the Elevate is well-equipped, rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara, offer more premium features, better technology, and hybrid options, making the Elevate feel overshadowed.

Final Thoughts

The Honda Elevate ended 2024 with 27,656 units sold, reflecting mixed market reception. While it has a strong brand value and reliable engineering, competition in the segment is fierce. If Honda introduces more Hybrid option like it did with City, and feature upgrades, the Elevate could improve its position in the Indian SUV market.
