Here is a comparison of the best-selling SUV, Hyundai Creta, against the recently launched Maruti Fronx to see which one is worth buying!
Hyundai Creta vs Maruti Fronx – Exterior and Interior
As you can see at the front of the Creta, it has square-shaped grille with top edges curved and is finished in chrome with four horizontal line across the grille. Split LED DRLS with tri-square shaped LED lights with fog lamps and indicators below them and the bumpers are finished in faux silver skid plate. Moving to the side, it’s simple looking with roof rails on top and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the LED taillamps looks similar to the split headlamps at the front.
The Fronx design at the front is inspired from their own mid-size SUV, Grand Vitara. It has LED DRLs with tri-rounded LED projector headlamps below the DRLs . The bumpers of the fronx front and rear are finished in faux silver skid plate. It has body classing all over the car with 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and non-functional roof rails. Moving to the rear, it has LED taillamps with connecting LED light bar and a little spoiler at the top.
From the inside, the Creta has a 10.25-inch infotainment system placed below the AC vent and at the sides it has vertically positioned AC vents. The Creta does not have the dual-tone theme dashboard option unfortunately. It has multi-function four-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, the pedals finished in silver color, and a huge panoramic sunroof. Around the gear lever which is designed like the one in Planes or similar to the one’s in Audi, it has rotary dials for drive modes, button for electric parking brake with auto hold function, and for the ventilated seat . It has two USB-A ports at the front, and two at the rear. The rear seats has 60:40 split which can be reclined as well.
As for the Fronx, it has 9-inch infotainment system placed above the AC Vents and at the sides, AC Vents are positioned horizontally. The Fronx has been given the option for the dual-tone dashboard. It has three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with Analog instrument cluster and TFT display, and has no sunroof on offer, unfortunately. It has a two USB-ports at the rear and one at the front. It has fabric seats on offer with rear seats having 60:40 split. It also has 6-speaker Arkamys sound system.

When it comes to dimensions, the Hyundai Creta measures 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, and 1635mm in height. However, the Maruti Fronx measures 3995mm in length that is shorter by 305mmm, it has width of 1765mm that is less by 25mm, and has a height of 1550mm that is smaller by 85mm. The Fronx has a wheelbase of 2520mm that is shorter by 90mm from the Creta’s wheelbase of 2610mm. Both the cars has a ground clearance of 190mm. As for the boot space, Creta has got 433 litres which is 125 litres bigger than the Fronx’s boot space of 308 litres. The Creta has a 50 litres fuel tank that is 13 litres bigger than the Fronx’s 37 litres fuel tank. After all this, the Creta has 1,690 kg kerb weight which is 630 kg heavier than the Fronx’s 1,060 kg kerb weight.

In Engine Options, Hyundai offers one petrol and one diesel engine for the Creta whereas Maruti offers one petrol engine with the Fronx. But first, the Creta, it has the 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual and IVT (it is CVT Gearbox, only different name) Gearbox and has a fuel efficiency of 17 kmpl. As for the Fronx, it is powered by 1.2-litre DualJet Dual VVT petrol engine that puts out 87.29 bhp and 113 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual and 5-speed Automatic Gearbox. Other than the petrol engine, the Hyundai Creta has the 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque paired toa 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. In return, this engine gives 23 kmpl fuel efficiency.

Unlike the Hyundai Creta which now has no turbo engines on offer, there is the Fronx which has the 1.0-litre Turbo BoosterJet petrol engine which produces 100 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual Transmission with fuel efficiency of 21.5 kmpl and 6-speed Automatic Transmission with fuel efficiency of 20.01 kmpl.

When it comes to features, the Fronx misses out on few such as no sunroof, ventilated seats, auto dimming IRVM, and cooled glovebox. It has analog instrument cluster instead of digital instrument cluster, has 6-speaker Arkamy’s sound system instead of the 8-speaker Bose Premium sound system, and lastly it has fabric seat upholstery while Creta has leather seat upholstery.

Even when it comes to safety features, the Fronx misses out on Traction control, and Tyre-Pressure Monitor System (TPMS). However, the Creta has reverse-parking camera instead of 360-degree camera.

The Hyundai Creta currently is priced at Rs. 10.87 lakh for the base petrol ‘E’ variant and goes up to Rs. 19.20 lakh for the top ‘SX (O) Knight Edition DT Diesel Automatic’ variant. The Fronx however, is priced at Rs. 7.46 lakh for the base Sigma variant and goes up to Rs. 13.13 lakh for the Alpha Turbo DT Automatic variant.
As for the warranty, Hyundai offers 3 years/1,00,000 km for the Creta and can be extended up to 7 years/1,00,000 km. For the Fronx, it offers 2 years/40,000 km and can be extended up to 5 years/1,00,000 km.

In the end, the decision to buy which car depends totally on you, however, we recommend the Hyundai Creta as it’s bigger, better, and more comfortable than the Fronx, and if you’ve the budget you should go for it.
