Hyundai Creta vs MG Hector – Exterior and Interior
As you can see at the front of the Creta, it has square-shaped grille with top edges curved and is finished in chrome with four horizontal line across the grille. Split LED DRLS with tri-square shaped LED lights with fog lamps and indicators below them and the bumpers are finished in faux silver skid plate. Moving to the side, it’s simple looking with roof rails on top and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the LED taillamps looks similar to the split headlamps at the front.
MG seems to take lessons from the BMW in design as the front of the Hector as now even bigger grille with chrome diamond-shape inserts in them with LED DRLs joining with the grille. It retains the split headlight setup from the pre-facelift of the Hector, and as you can see at the bottom of the grille, there is the radar for the ADAS. The side has no change in look as it gets the same 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear side, MG has added a light bar that connects the taillamps with ADAS badging below the taillamps. The bumpers both at the front and the rear is finished in faux silver skid plate.
From the inside, the Creta has a 10.25-inch infotainment system placed below the AC vent and at the sides it has vertically positioned AC vents. The Creta does not have the dual-tone theme dashboard option unfortunately. It has multi-function four-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, the pedals finished in silver color, and a huge panoramic sunroof. Around the gear lever which is designed like the one in Planes or similar to the one’s in Audi, it has rotary dials for drive modes, button for electric parking brake with auto hold function, and for the ventilated seat . It has two USB-A ports at the front, and two at the rear. The rear seats has 60:40 split which can be reclined as well.
Now, the MG Hector, it has a very clean look as it has eliminated buttons from the dashboard and everything is operated from the 14-inch vertically positioned infotainment system. It has huge AC vents in horizontal position and also has dual-tone theme dashboard option. The Hector has it’s classic looking three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with full digital instrument cluster with a huge panoramic sunroof and button for the engine start/stop is positioned on the left side near the infotainment system. The gear lever looks similar to the Creta, with metal finish buttons before the gear level for the drive modes and other thing. The seats at the rear has 60:40 split.

The Hyundai Creta measures 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, and 1635mm in height. When it comes to the Hector, it measures 4699mm which is 399mm taller than the Creta. It has width of 1835mm which is 45mm wider than the Creta, and height of 1760mm which is taller by 125mm. The Hector has the longest wheelbase of 2750mm which is 140mm longer than the Creta’s 2610mm wheelbase. However, the difference in ground clearance between the two SUVs is just 2mm as the Creta has 190mm while the Hector has 192mm.

The MG Hector are equipped with two turbo powertrains – Petrol and Diesel. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, and drives the front wheels via a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed CVT Gearbox. This engine gives fuel efficiency of 12.34 km/l and has a top speed of 195 kmph. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine pumps out 167.67 bhp and 350 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox only. No Automatic or CVT Gearbox on offer.

Other than the turbo engines, Creta offers the two non-turbo powertrain options as well – Petrol and Diesel.
