Hyundai Creta vs MG Hector – Exterior and Interior

As you can see at the front of the Creta, it has square-shaped grille with top edges curved and is finished in chrome with four horizontal line across the grille. Split LED DRLS with tri-square shaped LED lights with fog lamps and indicators below them and the bumpers are finished in faux silver skid plate. The Creta does not have the dual-tone theme dashboard option unfortunately. It has multi-function four-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, the pedals finished in silver color, and a huge panoramic sunroof. Around the gear lever which is designed like the one in Planes or similar to the one’s in Audi, it has rotary dials for drive modes, button for electric parking brake with auto hold function, and for the ventilated seat . It has two USB-A ports at the front, and two at the rear. The rear seats has 60:40 split which can be reclined as well.

Now, the MG Hector, it has a very clean look as it has eliminated buttons from the dashboard and everything is operated from the 14-inch vertically positioned infotainment system. It has huge AC vents in horizontal position and also has dual-tone theme dashboard option. The Hector has it’s classic looking three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with full digital instrument cluster with a huge panoramic sunroof and button for the engine start/stop is positioned on the left side near the infotainment system. The gear lever looks similar to the Creta, with metal finish buttons before the gear level for the drive modes and other thing. The seats at the rear has 60:40 split.

The Hyundai Creta measures 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, and 1635mm in height. When it comes to the Hector, it measures 4699mm which is 399mm taller than the Creta. It has width of 1835mm which is 45mm wider than the Creta, and height of 1760mm which is taller by 125mm. The Hector has the longest wheelbase of 2750mm which is 140mm longer than the Creta’s 2610mm wheelbase. However, the difference in ground clearance between the two SUVs is just 2mm as the Creta has 190mm while the Hector has 192mm.

The MG Hector are equipped with two turbo powertrains – Petrol and Diesel. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, and drives the front wheels via a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed CVT Gearbox. This engine gives fuel efficiency of 12.34 km/l and has a top speed of 195 kmph. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine pumps out 167.67 bhp and 350 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox only. No Automatic or CVT Gearbox on offer.

Other than the turbo engines, Creta offers the two non-turbo powertrain options as well – Petrol and Diesel. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual and IVT (it is CVT Gearbox, only different name) Gearbox and has a fuel efficiency of 17 km/l. Then there is the 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque paired toa 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. In return, this engine gives 23 km/l fuel efficiency.

As for the MG Hector, it only offers turbo engines and no non-turbo engines in it’s model.
