
Recently, Skoda Slavia received a Global NCAP rating of 5-star and we thought why not compare it against the Hyundai Creta to see if the Slavia is preferrable over the Creta!
Hyundai Creta vs Skoda Slavia – Exterior and Interior
As you can see at the front of the Creta, it has square-shaped grille with top edges curved and is finished in chrome with four horizontal line across the grille. Split LED DRLS with tri-square shaped LED lights with fog lamps and indicators below them and the bumpers are finished in faux silver skid plate. Moving to the side, it’s simple looking with roof rails on top and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the LED taillamps looks similar to the split headlamps at the front.
From the front, Skoda Slavia has the classic rectangular grille at the front with curves at the top edge with the grille surrounding finished in chrome. Then there is the LED projector headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs within the headlamps and below them is the LED fog lamps. Moving to the sides, it has cuts and creases for aggressive look with a chrome line running through the bottom of the window frame and it rides on the 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear side, it has L-shaped LED taillamps with shark fin antenna at the top.
From the inside, the Creta has a 10.25-inch infotainment system placed below the AC vent and at the sides it has vertically positioned AC vents. The Creta does not have the dual-tone theme dashboard option unfortunately. It has multi-function four-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, the pedals finished in silver color, and a huge panoramic sunroof. Around the gear lever which is designed like the one in Planes or similar to the one’s in Audi, it has rotary dials for drive modes, button for electric parking brake with auto hold function, and for the ventilated seat . It has two USB-A ports at the front, and two at the rear. The rear seats has 60:40 split which can be reclined as well.
Skoda Slavia on the other hand, it has an 8-inch infotainment system placed above the AC vent and at the sides it has round-shape AC vents. The Slavia does have the option for dual-tone dashboard. It has two-spoke multi-function steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, brake pedals finished in black color, and a single-pane sunroof. Around the gear level, it has buttons for ventilated seats for driver and the passenger, idle stop/start system, and to lock the car. The controls for the HVAC are touch-sensitive, so no buttons for them. It has two USB ports at the front and rear. The rear seats has 60:40 split which can be slightly reclined as well.

When it comes to dimensions, there are noticeable difference between the two models. The Creta has a length of 4300mm, width of 1790mm, and height of 1635mm. The Slavia, however, has a length of 4541mm that is longer by 241mm, has a width of 1752mm which is 38mm less wide, and a height of 1507m which is shorter by 128mm. The Slavia has a wheelbase of 2651mm which is 41mm longer than the Creta’s wheelbase of 2610mm. However, when it comes to ground clearance, Slavia has a ground clearance of 145mm which is considerably less than what Creta has, 190mm.
As for the boot space, Creta’s got 433 litres boot which is good but still not as much as 521 litres boot from Slavia with 88 litres difference. The Creta has got a bigger fuel tank of 50 litres which is 5 litres more than the Slavia’s 45 litres fuel tank. After all this, Creta has a kerb weight of 1,698 kg which is 412 kg heavier than the Slavia’s 1,278 kg kerb weight.

When it comes to engine options, Hyundai Creta has one petrol and one diesel engine on offer and Slavia has two petrol engines on offer. But first, the Creta, it has the 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual and IVT (it is CVT Gearbox, only different name) Gearbox and has a fuel efficiency of 17 kmpl.
As for the Slavia, it has the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that puts out 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed torque-converter Automatic Gearbox and provides a fuel efficiency of 18.07 kmpl. Other than the petrol engine, the Creta has diesel powertrain as well. The Creta has the 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. In return, this engine gives 23 kmpl fuel efficiency.

As for the Skoda Slavia, it is priced at Rs. 11.39 lakh for the entry-level ‘1.0 TSI Active’ variant and the Rs. 18.68 lakh for the ‘1.5 TSI Anniversary Edition.’ As you may have noticed, the price difference between the two cars is the Rs. 52,000 for the entry-level variant and Rs. 52,000 difference for the top-variant.

In the end, the decision to buy which car depends totally on you, however, it is recommended to buy the Hyundai Creta as it’s bigger in size offering more space and comfort than Slavia, and in features, both of them has same features on offer, yet Hyundai is better. The Skoda Slavia is bigger in dimensions as well giving the space needed for yourself, and for storage, same features, better in Safety than Creta, and good mileage as well. Therefore, if you have an SUV requirement then you should buy the Hyundai Creta, otherwise if you have an Sedan requirement then you should buy the Skoda Slavia. Which one would you choose?
