India’s first affordable convertible car with acceleration much better than a Porsche Taycan will launch on this date after MG M9 Launches this month!

MG first unveiled the Cyberster in India last year during its JSW partnership announcement, followed by a showcase at Auto Expo 2025. Now, the much-anticipated electric sportscar is set to launch in August 2025, with prices expected around ₹80 lakh (ex-showroom). Exact launch date is yet to be revealed.

Bold Design with Scissor Doors

The MG Cyberster sports a striking aerodynamic design featuring LED headlamps, a bold rear diffuser, a black fabric soft top, and large alloy wheels (expected to be 19 or 20 inches). MG will likely offer colour options like Inca Yellow, Ivory White, and Andes Gray.

A major highlight is its electrically operated scissor doors, which can be controlled via key fob. These doors come equipped with radar sensors and anti-pinch functionality, enhancing convenience and safety. The convertible roof enhances its roadster appeal, and the displayed units featured the top-down look.

Drawing inspiration from the classic MG B Roadster of the 1960s, the Cyberster blends vintage charm with futuristic aggression. Globally, multiple roof colour combinations are offered, and similar choices are likely for the Indian market.

Sporty Performance

While MG India is yet to officially confirm technical specs, the India-spec Cyberster is expected to mirror the UK model. The top variant will likely get a dual-motor AWD setup with a 77kWh battery, delivering 505 bhp and 725 Nm torque. Claimed 0-100 kmph time is just 3.2 seconds, and the CLTC-certified range is 580 km.

Globally, two trims are available—Trophy and GT.

  • Trophy: Rear-wheel drive, 64kWh battery, 336 bhp and 475 Nm, 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds, top speed of 193 kmph
  • GT: Dual motor AWD, more power, quicker acceleration

MG may introduce both variants in India.

Optimised Dynamics and Premium Features

The Cyberster rides on a performance-focused chassis with double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link setup at the rear. A 50:50 weight distribution improves balance and handling—ideal for Indian enthusiasts looking for a driver-focused EV.

Inside, it offers a tech-rich cabin with:

  • Triple-screen layout
  • Powered and ventilated seats
  • Level 2 ADAS suite
  • 360-degree camera
  • Auto climate control
  • Premium sound system
  • Auto-dimming IRVM
  • Electronic parking brake with auto-hold

MG Select Premium Dealerships

The Cyberster will be retailed via MG’s exclusive MG Select showrooms—dedicated to high-end, fully imported vehicles. These outlets will also handle upcoming luxury models like the MG M9 and Majestor.

MG Select will launch initially in 12 major cities with premium customer experience, dedicated service bays, and expert staff.

Pre-Bookings Open
