The Jeep Compass is one of the best-selling SUV for the company in India since launch. However, Jeep sales is in a different direction which isn’t working for them, and is attempting to make big U-turn by launching the Compass Trailhawk with a new petrol engine which is under testing.

2024 Jeep Compass Petrol Trim Spotted: What you need to know!

The Compass Test mule was spotted in India and reveals quite a few things like it has a new front fascia with slight deviations from the current or previous Jeep models. This includes the Trailhawk variant which adds a touch of ruggedness. Additionally, the bumpers has been completely redesigned, and it now features fog lamps are positioned way down compared to its current model. Minor Adjustments has been made to the Profile and Rear Section of the vehicle.

We suspect Jeep might be testing the 1.3 L 4 Cylinder Turbo Petrol capable of generating 147.94 BHP and 270 NM of torque, and could come with DCT Gearbox only which allow the SUV to accelerate from 0 – 100 KMPH in less than 10 seconds. We think the reason Jeep could launch the Petrol option for the Compass and other model like the Meridian due to less sales.

The demand for Compass compared to last year is down by 36%, and for Meridian its 82%. To boost the sales, a new petrol engine along with a minor facelift that will bring freshness in looks, should help them see improvement in sales. At the moment, the Jeep Compass is available with 2.0 L Turbo Diesel only. As for the Meridian, it’s not doing good in sales, but it could benefit from this new petrol engine too. This could help Jeep achieve lower price point for both the models, which could help them boost their sales.
