
The Kia Sonet facelift has hit an impressive milestone, achieving 1 lakh unit sales within just 11 months of its launch in January 2024. This makes it one of the fastest-selling subcompact SUVs in India, with an average monthly sale of nearly 10,000 units. Priced competitively from Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Sonet facelift has cemented its position as a strong contender in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.
Kia Sonet Sales Insights
Kia revealed that petrol-powered variants dominate the Sonet’s sales, accounting for 76% of the total units sold. The remaining 24% of buyers opted for the efficient 1.5L diesel engine. Automatic and intelligent manual transmission (iMT) options are becoming increasingly popular, contributing 34% of overall sales. Interestingly, 79% of the total sales came from variants equipped with a sunroof, highlighting a strong consumer preference for premium features.

The Kia Sonet facelift has been a popular choice thanks to its extensive lineup of 22 variants and six powertrain options catering to diverse customer needs. It includes 15 safety features as standard, along with 10 Level 1 ADAS functionalities and over 70 connected car features, making it a tech-packed option in the segment.
Additionally, Kia highlights that the Sonet offers the lowest maintenance costs in its class—16% lower for petrol variants and 14% lower for diesel variants compared to segment averages.
The SUV also stands out with its aesthetic appeal, offering eight single-tone, two dual-tone, and one matte exterior finish options. The premium feel extends to the interior, which is available in five colour schemes, ensuring variety for buyers.
