During Kia’s Investor Day, President and Chief Editorial Officer Ho Sung Song unveiled plans for three new electric vehicles set to debut in the Indian market in 2024 and 2025. The lineup includes the Clavis EV, Carens EV, and the EV9, strategically aimed at expanding Kia’s presence and appeal to a wider audience in India.
Kia EV9
- Exterior Design includes thin LED light bar, Y-design mini-LEDs, Gloss black finish lower air intake, ORVMs, and roof rails. Dual-tone bumpers front and rear, new 21-inch alloy wheels, unique LED Tail-lamps with flat curv-ish tailgate, roof spoiler, and more.
- Interiors include dual 12.3-inch seamless-integrated displays, three-rows with dual-tone leather seat upholstery, Lounge Seats in 1st and 2nd Row with Heated and Ventilated Function and power extendable headrests, power tailgate, extendable 2nd row centre console with multiple USB Charging port, Meridian Sound System, and more.

- Carens ICE Facelift is in works and the same design language would be applied to the electric version as well.
- Exterior Design will look identical to the ICE version, but changes include such as closed front grille, tweaked LED Tail-lamps, dual-tone bumpers, new “Kia EV” Series inspired alloy wheels, and ADAS Suite – Radar at lower air intake, and camera in top windshield.
- Interior changes include new free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system, new Seltos-like Digital Cluster, new theme for the dashboard, new upholstery options for the cabin, panoramic sunroof on top, redesigned centre console, and more.
- It may be built on the E-GMP Platform.
- Dimensions will be same as the ICE version.
- Battery Specs: 40 – 50 kWh Battery Pack; Range: 450 – 500 KMs, Drive-type: FWD

Kia Clavis EV
- Exterior design will see minimum changes over the ICE version like closed front fascia, and different pattern for the lower air intake; new 17-inch aero efficient alloy wheels, boxy-shape with tall stance, connected LED tail-lamps with tweaked design.
- Interiors we didn’t have the opportunity to see; but expect it to look similar to the Seltos.
- The SUV is positioned between the Sonet and Seltos.
- Built on the E-GMP Platform.
- Dimensions could be above 4 Meters in length, and 2.5 – 2.6 Meters Wheelbase.
