Out of Nowhere, Mahindra decided to tease it’s most awaited and biggest launch of the year, the 5-Door Thar, which will be officially called as the Thar Roxx. The Roxx will be better-equipped over its 3-Door version.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Revealed: All Details!
Mahindra has now officially confirmed the name of the model as “Thar Roxx”. They released a teaser giving us a glimpse of the SUV. Although the exterior image of the SUV was leaked a few days, the teaser confimrs those details such as new front grille with six blocks, double-stacked,different from the 3-Door version; camera at the top center grille, circular headlamps same as before but gets LED setup with C-shaped DRLs which are dual-functional.

From the side, you can see the new 19-inch alloy wheels, big squarish ORVMs with camera for the 360 Degree Camera, and rear profile has same tail-lamps as 3-Door but gets full LEDs with stop-lamp integrated. Other than what we seen in the spy shots, the tail-gate mounted spare tyre gets wheel cover as well.
Inside, it’ll look similar to the 3-Door, but will get upgrades such as dual 10.25-inch displays, panoramic sunroof on top, driver armrest, centre armrests, XUV700-like steering wheel, rear AC vents, wireless charging pad in front of gear lever, and few more.
The Thar 5-Door will be available with 3 Engine Options – 1.5 L Diesel Engine for entry-level trims with 6 Speed Manual Gearbox; 2.2 L Diesel and 2.2 L Turbo Petrol with 6 Speed Manual (MT) and Automatic (AT) Gearboxes. Moreover, you get Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) and 4-Wheel-Drive (4WD) setup, just like the 3-Door.
Mahindra will be launching the Thar Roxx on the Independence Day of India, August 15th, 2024. Upon launch, it’ll have Force Gurkha 5-Door as its main rival with Maruti Jimny also available as a rival. We expect Mahindra to price the SUV from Rs. 15 Lakhs.
