Ahead of its official launch on August 15th, 2024, Mahindra Thar 5 Door Test Mule was spied which is a second top variant without the ADAS Camera Module mounted on the windshield.
Mahindra Thar 5 Door Second Top Variant: What Does it Reveal?
Almost daily, the test mule of the Thar 5 Door is spied undergoing tests in other parts of India. However, this spy shot appears to be a second top variant of the SUV with no Camera Module mounted on the windshield. It’s likely possible Mahindra applying the same formula as it did with the recently launched XUV3XO where you need to buy the Luxury Pack Variant to have access to features like ADAS, 360 Surround View Camera, etc.
The SUV spied is also seen with no front camera on the front grille, nor on the ORVMs. Other than that, the SUV is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Headlamps, Tail-lamps, Dual-functional circular LED DRLs, Single-pane sunroof on top, Parking Sensors at the front and rear, and 18-inch wheels mounted on the tailgate.
The upcoming Thar 5 Door boasts a sleek dashboard design reminiscent of its 3-door version. Spy shots reveal dual 10.25-inch screens—one for infotainment and another for the digital cluster, akin to the XUV3XO. Air conditioning controls are managed via rotary dials, retaining familiarity. The steering wheel similar to the XUV700’s. Moreover it gets driver armrests, a center console with storage, and front-row cupholders. Expect luxurious black and brown leather seats, possibly with ventilation for added comfort.
The Thar 5 Door will get two engine options which are taken from the Scorpio-N SUV, except the output won’t be the same, it’ll be lowered down by few percentage. The 2.2 L Diesel and 2.0 L Turbo Petrol Engine will be the options available with 6 Speed Manual (MT) and Automatic (AT) during launch.
As for launch, Mahindra will be launching the Thar 5 Door on August 15th, 2024, and upon on its launch, it’ll rival the 5 Door Maruti Jimny, and the upcoming 5 Door Force Gurkha. We expect Mahindra to price the Thar 5 Door from Rs. 15 Lakhs.
