Mahindra just released a new big update for the 4×4 Thar Roxx 7 Months after its initial launch!

Mahindra is set to refresh the interior theme of its flagship lifestyle SUV, the Thar Roxx, by introducing a new Mocha Grey option. This update comes in response to customer feedback on the earlier Ivory White interiors, which, while premium, were considered impractical for a rugged off-roader. The Mocha Grey theme will replace the Ivory White across all variants, with the first batch of updated models already arriving at dealerships.

Why the Change?

The Thar Roxx debuted on August 15, 2024, featuring tech-laden and luxurious interiors, setting a new benchmark for off-road SUVs in India. However, the Ivory White cabin received mixed reviews, as it was difficult to maintain in dusty and muddy conditions. In October 2024, Mahindra introduced Mocha Brown interiors exclusively for the 4X4 variants. Now, the more practical Mocha Grey will be offered across the lineup, making the cabin easier to maintain while still retaining a premium feel.

What’s New with Mocha Grey?

The Mocha Grey interior blends a darker, modern finish with a dual-tone dashboard, updated upholstery, and contrast stitching. The change aligns better with the Thar Roxx’s rugged nature while maintaining its plush appeal. Though official images are yet to be released, early dealership units confirm the new theme enhances practicality without compromising aesthetics.

New Feature Updates

Mahindra has also added new features to the Thar Roxx without any price increase. These include:

Keyless entry request sensors
Sliding function for the co-driver armrest
Aerodynamic flat wipers to reduce cabin noise

Engine & Variants

The Thar Roxx continues with the same powertrain options:

2.0 L Turbo Petrol – 174.6 BHP & 380 NM – RWD
2.2 L Turbo Diesel – 172.6 BHP & 370 NM – RWD, 4WD

Both engines are available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, with 4X4 exclusive to the diesel variants.

The SUV is offered in six variants: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3 L, AX5 L, and AX7 L, with prices starting at Rs. 12.99 lakh and going up to Rs. 23.09 lakh (ex-showroom).

A Practical Step Forward

With the introduction of Mocha Grey interiors, Mahindra has addressed customer concerns while ensuring the Thar Roxx remains a premium yet functional off-roader. Deliveries of the updated version are expected to begin soon, with the Ivory White interior being phased out entirely. Buyers can check with dealerships for availability.
