Maruti Suzuki has reduced the prices of its cars and SUV by Rs. 5,000. This price cut is applicable to Automatic (AMT) or as Maruti calls it Auto Gear-Shift (AGS) variants only.

Maruti’s Cars and SUVs experiencing price reduction include the Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, Wagon R, Dzire, Ignis, Baleno, and Fronx. However, models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, Ciaz, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Swift, and XL6, which come with a torque converter automatic transmission, are not included in the price cut. The new prices took effect on June 1, 2024. Previously, prices for Maruti’s AMT range started at Rs 5.56 Lakh for the Alto K10 VXI Automatic (AGS). Now, the entry point for Maruti’s AMT (AGS) range begins at Rs 5.51 Lakh.

Last year, Maruti sold nearly 1.32 lakh AMT (AGS) models. The company anticipates a 15-20 percent growth in the financial year following this price revision. “We want more and more customers at the entry level to upgrade to the Automatic Variants,” said Partho Banerjee, Maruti Suzuki’s Sales and Marketing head. Tomorrow, on June 4th, Maruti will be launching the Dream Editions of S-Presso, Alto K10, and Celerio; and all of these will be priced at Rs. 4.99 Lakh.
Maruti later this year will be launching the new 4th generation Dzire during the festive season which will sport new 1.2 L Z12E Petrol Engine along with few first-in segment features like 360 Camera, Sunroof, etc. Moreover, Maruti will be launching its first-ever electric SUV, eVX in early 2025, and then later that year, it’ll launch its first 7-Seater SUV based of Grand Vitara.
