Maruti Dzire was one of the best-selling sedan in India with 1,66,928 units which you compare it with the compact sedan segment consisting of Verna, Slavia, Virtus, Ciaz, etc. It still has more sales than all of them combined.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire recorded total sales of 1,66,928 units in 2024, making it one of the best-selling sedans in India. Known for its fuel efficiency, reliability, and strong resale value, the Dzire has remained a popular choice among buyers. However, its sales saw multiple ups and downs throughout the year, with a major boost in the last quarter following the launch of the 4th generation Dzire in October.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Sales in 2024

January started strong with 16,773 units, but February saw a dip to 15,837 units (-5.6 percent). March remained stable at 15,894 units (+0.4 percent), followed by 15,825 units in April (-0.4 percent). May saw a slight rise to 16,061 units (+1.5 percent) before a significant drop in June to 13,421 units (-16.4 percent). This downward trend continued in July with 11,647 units (-13.2 percent) and August with 10,627 units (-8.8 percent). September showed slight improvement with 10,853 units (+2.1 percent). October saw a sharp rise to 12,698 units (+17.0 percent), coinciding with the launch of the 4th generation Dzire, which brought massive design and feature upgrades. While November dipped to 11,719 units (-7.7 percent), December ended the year with 16,573 units (+41.4 percent), the second-highest sales of the year.

Reasons for Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s Sales Fluctuations

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire faced declining sales in mid-2024 due to shifting buyer preferences toward SUVs and increasing competition from the Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. However, the launch of the 4th generation Dzire in October significantly boosted demand, thanks to major design changes, new features, and improved technology.

The festive season also contributed to the October and December sales spike, while earlier months saw slowdowns due to customers waiting for the new model. The Dzire remains a strong choice for buyers looking for a fuel-efficient, spacious, and affordable sedan, despite the growing dominance of SUVs in India.

Final Thoughts

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire finished 2024 with 1,66,928 units sold, proving its strong market position in the sedan segment. With the launch of the new-generation Dzire, Maruti is expected to maintain strong sales momentum in 2025, offering modern features and enhanced design to compete effectively in a market shifting toward SUVs.
