MG Motors UK celebrates its 100th year anniversary of operation as global automotive brand on 8th August 2023. Though the name Morris Garages has been synonymous with British motoring for generations, the company has overcome numerous challenges over the past century. After the downfall of MG Rover Group in 2005, MG Motors UK emerged as the automaker’s current form as initially it was acquired by Chinese automaker, Nanjing Automobile, which was subsequently purchased by China’s SAIC Motor back in 2007.

In 2017, MG Motors India was established, and ever since then the automaker has achieved nothing but great success in our country. MG Motors holds a notable position in India’s mid-size SUV segment with models such as the Hector, Gloster, Astor, and electric vehicles like recently updated MG ZS EV, and recently launched Comet EV. MG Motors gained more recognition in the Indian market through the introduction of the Hector SUV in 2019 that marked the debut of the first connected SUV in the market.

The company introduced the Gloster D-Segment SUV with Level 1 ADAS and over the last four years, MG Motor India achieved impressive sales of around 1.75 lakh vehicles in the country. Additionally, it secured the position of the second-largest seller of electric vehicles, following Tata Motors which commands an 86 percent market share in the electric passenger vehicle market. MG Motor India is set to make strides in the Indian EV brand with its Comet micro-EV boasting an impressive 12,000 sales.

As part of its 100-year anniversary celebration, the automaker is launching an 100-day customer campaign that offers special pricing, exchange benefits, loyalty schemes, extended warranty, and service offers for new customers. These benefits will be presented by dealers through daily giveaways.
