Honda will be launching new Models In India by the end of 2024 that will surely change the game for it’s competitors.
Honda will be launching new models in India by the end of 2024 to expand it’s line-up as it currently sells only three models – Honda City, Honda City e:HEV (Hybrid) and Honda Amaze. Here is the list of Models Honda will be launching in India –
Honda Elevate
Launch Date: June 6th, 2023
As we had already known, Honda will be launching an all-new mid-size SUV, Elevate on June 6th, that will be rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. While the details on the Elevate are very minimal, we do know that this Honda SUV is based on it’s own sedan model, City, as the dimensions will be around the same and will have the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine, and the 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine. The Elevate will come with lots of features such as ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster, 8-speaker premium surround sound system, 360-degree camera, and the important feature, ADAS. Honda is expected to launch the hybrid version of the SUV at a later date. The Global reveal event will premiere from India and will first sell in India and then export it to other international markets.
Honda WR-V
Launch Date: End of 2023
Honda had revealed the second-gen WR-V in November 2022 and is currently on sale in Indonesia and is expected to launch in India by the end of this year. The 2nd Gen WR-V measures 4,060mm in length, 1,608mm in width, and 1,780mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,485mm. The WR-V shares its design with the HR-V and CR-V that is sold in other international markets such as USA for example. At the front it has chrome-mesh grille with RS badging on it, and wrap-around LED headlamps with the LED DRLs inside.
The bumpers are finished in faux silver skid plate and it has cuts on the bonnets for sportiness. From the side, it has cuts on the body, and non-functional roof rails on top. At the rear side, it has opposite L-shaped taillamps with roof spoiler. The interiors of the WR-V looks or will remind you of the Honda Amaze as it’s got red stitching on the seats for the sporting appeal since it has RS variant on offer. The WR-V will be powered by the engine that powers the Honda City, the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that pumps out 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual or CVT Gearbox.
Once it launches in India, it’ll rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, Maruti Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and Renault Kiger.
Honda Amaze
Launch Date: Expected in 2024
Honda is working on the new third-generation of the Amaze for a global debut in 2024. The Amaze has been in the market since 2018 and it only once got a mid-life update in 2021. The next-gen Amaze will be a petrol only model and will share few elements with the upcoming Element SUV. What change they will make? It’ll most likely get a new look from the outside, i.e. cosmetic changes with few additional features inside the Amaze. As a matter of fact, the Amaze design was inspired from the Accord, and similar approach can be taken for the next-gen Amaze as well. From the inside, Honda could refresh the layout with a possibly a free-standing infotainment system like the Accord. Rest of the things will remain the same. The Amaze will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that puts out 88.50 bhp and 110 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual and CVT Gearbox.
