New Virtus Rival at Rs. 13.79 Lakh has launched which offers more features than anyone other model in the segment!
Hyundai Motor India has introduced a new SX+ variant to the Verna lineup, adding a fresh choice for sedan buyers looking for a blend of style, comfort, and technology. Positioned below the top-spec SX(O), the new Verna SX+ borrows several high-end features while keeping the pricing relatively accessible. It is offered in two transmission options – a 6-speed manual priced at Rs 13.79 lakh and a 6-speed IVT version priced at Rs 15.04 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
What SX+ variant packs?
The Verna SX+ packs in a range of premium features, including ventilated and heated front seats, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, leatherette seat upholstery, LED headlamps, front parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. These features have been carried over from the higher SX(O) variant, making the SX+ a more value-rich offering.
For safety, the SX+ trim includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera. These are in line with Hyundai’s standard safety commitment across its model range.
Engine Specs
The SX+ variant is powered by the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 115hp and 143.8Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with either a manual or an IVT gearbox. According to ARAI figures, the manual variant delivers a fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl, while the IVT version offers 19.6 kmpl.
New Wireless Connectivity Adapter
Hyundai has also introduced a new accessory – a wired-to-wireless adapter – aimed at enhancing the in-car technology experience. This adapter enables wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for users who prefer cable-free connectivity. Priced at Rs 4,500, the adapter is available for select Verna variants with the 10.25-inch touchscreen, including the SX(O), SX Turbo, and SX(O) Turbo trims. It is not compatible with the base E variant, which does not have a touchscreen, while the S, SX, SX+ and S(O) Turbo variants already offer wireless connectivity on the smaller 8-inch unit.
Apart from the Verna, this adapter is also being offered across six other Hyundai models – Grand i10 Nios, Exter, Aura, Venue, Venue N Line, and Alcazar – enhancing convenience for a wider customer base.
Hyundai’s Commitment
Speaking on the launch of the new Verna SX+ variant and the wired-to-wireless adapter, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said:
“At HMIL, we are consistently driven by our vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’ and customer-centric innovation. Additionally, the Wired to Wireless Adapter reaffirms our commitment to offering accessible and advanced connectivity solutions across our product range.”
With the introduction of the SX+ trim and improved tech offerings, Hyundai aims to strengthen the Verna’s position in the competitive midsize sedan segment.
