New 9th Gen Toyota Camry!

So, Toyota has unveiled the new 9th Gen Camry which gets new sport fresh design for the interior and the exterior, and now it’s powered by the Petrol Hybrid Powertrain only.

New Toyota Camry: Everything you need to know!

The upcoming ninth-generation Camry is set to hit the global market next year, beginning with the North American market, where it continues to be the most popularity. Toyota asserts that this sedan is entirely a new sedan, although you may notice some similarities with the outgoing model from certain angles. Notably, it shares the same TNGA-K platform as its predecessor.

In terms of its exterior, the new Camry adopts Toyota’s signature “hammerhead” front styling, featuring slim DRLs that align’s it with other recent models like the Crown sedan and the latest Prius. Turning our attention to the interior, the new Camry undergoes a significant overhaul, showcasing an entirely new dashboard layout equipped with dual digital screens. The instrument cluster is a 7-inch screen, and there are two size of Infotainment System – 12.3-inch display for higher variants, and 8-inch display for lower variants. Top variants will boast additional features such as a JBL sound system, heads-up display, digital key, and various other tech features.

The new Camry departs from the V6 engine, and replaces it with sole Petrol Hybrid powertrain. This powertrain is a 2.5 L 4 Cylinder Petrol engine paired with two electric motors, resulting in a combined output of 221.92 BHP. The Camry hybrid AWD version goes a step further by having an additional motor at the rear axle giving a total output to 228.82 BHP.

Similar to several other Toyota models, the Camry also gets an eCVT gearbox to manage the shifting duties for its hybrid powertrain. Although there are no alternative powertrain options, Toyota offers customers various suspension setups based on the specific variant they choose. This allows for customization and caters to different preferences in terms of driving dynamics.

Moving to the safety, it’ll get multiple airbags as standard, Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 which is ADAS with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Road Sign Assist, Auto High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Alert among the others. So, the question arises is when will it launch in India? It’s likely it won’t launch for the Indian Market until the second half of 2024.
