An all-new Kia Car is set to launch in April with its EV Counterpart set for June launch. This will be also first Kia model in segment to get ADAS!
Kia Carens facelift is set to debut in India next month, followed by the all-electric Carens EV, which is expected to launch in June. The updated MPV will receive significant exterior and interior enhancements, while the electric variant will incorporate EV-specific design changes and a shared powertrain with the Hyundai Creta EV.
Kia Carens 2025 Facelift: Exterior Updates
The 2025 Carens facelift will feature a more SUV-inspired design with a raised bonnet for a bolder look. Spy images suggest that the front-end styling will take cues from the Kia Syros, with redesigned headlights and new LED daytime running lights. At the rear, vertically stacked tail lamps connected by an LED light bar are expected, along with a fresh alloy wheel design—likely to retain the existing 16-inch size.
The Carens EV will adopt a similar exterior but with distinct elements such as a closed-off grille for better aerodynamics and unique wheel designs.
Interior & Features
While the facelifted Carens’ interior has not yet been fully revealed, it is expected to borrow elements from the Seltos, including updated switches and controls. Kia is also likely to enhance the feature list, introducing a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 ADAS suite for higher trims.
For the Carens EV, the cabin layout will be largely identical to the ICE models, but minor trim and design tweaks will differentiate the electric variant. The battery pack is expected to be positioned beneath the second and third-row seats, which may slightly impact interior space.
Powertrain Options
The Carens facelift will retain its current engine lineup:
- 1.5-litre petrol (113 bhp, 144 Nm) – 6-speed manual transmission
- 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (158 bhp, 253 Nm) – 6-speed iMT & 7-speed DCT
- 1.5-litre diesel (114 bhp, 250 Nm) – 6-speed manual & 6-speed automatic
The Carens EV will share its powertrain and battery options with the Hyundai Creta EV. The Creta EV offers two battery choices—42kWh and 51.4kWh—delivering a range of 390 km and 473 km, respectively (MIDC-rated). However, due to the Carens EV’s larger size, its official range figures may be slightly lower.
Final Thoughts!
The 2025 Kia Carens facelift brings a more SUV-like design, upgraded technology, and advanced safety features, making it a more compelling option in the MPV segment. Meanwhile, the Carens EV will expand Kia’s electric lineup, offering a practical three-row alternative with a competitive range.
With its expected pricing and feature-rich updates, the Carens facelift will continue to attract buyers looking for a stylish and spacious MPV, while the Carens EV could be a game-changer for those considering an electric family vehicle.
More details will emerge closer to launch, so stay tuned for official specifications and pricing.
