Kia Carens EV: What’s new?
Kia Carens EV was spotted undergoing testing in South Korea. Although it’s completely camouflaged, we can see the alloy wheels design which are similar to the Kia EV5 model set for August 25th Debut. These wheels are aero-efficient which will help in improving efficiency to achieve better range.

Other than from what we’ve have previously seen, the front fascia looks similar to the Kia EV5 like the L-shape LED DRLs within the headlamps unit connected by a thin LED light bar. The headlamp unit appears to be LED Projector and it’s possible the top-spec trim may get the full LED setup. The rear profile sees the C-shape connected LED Tail-lamps, and subtle changes to the bumpers both front and rear.
Spy shots doesn’t reveal the interiors of the EV, but expect it to largely look similar to the Seltos like free-standing 10.25-inch Infotainment System, new 10.25-inch fully digital cluster, tweaked Centre Console and Dashboard, 6 and 7 Seator Configuration along with panoramic sunroof of top, Dual-zone climate control with new control panel to change temperatures, and new upholstery. Moreover, the EV will get electric parking brake replacing the manual handbrake.
Technical Specs isn’t revealed yet, but we expect the EV to be equipped with 45 – 50 kWh Battery pack with a single motor mounted on front axle for Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) delivering 450 – 500 KMs Range on a single charge.
Features-wise, we expect the MPV to get Heads-up Display (HUD), Co-Passenger Powered Seat, 6 Airbags as standard, 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS, Panoramic Sunroof on top, One touch up/down for all windows, among other features.
Kia is expected to launch the ICE Carens Facelift likely in the fourth quarter of 2024 while the EV version is expected to launch in the second half of 2025.
