Mahindra will be launching new Rs. 6 Lakh SUV which will sit below the XUV3XO in line-up and rival the Tata Punch!
Mahindra is gearing up to enter the micro SUV segment with a new model, likely named XUV1XO, to rival the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The company has trademarked the XUV1XO name, signalling its plans for a compact and budget-friendly SUV. Positioned below the XUV3XO, this upcoming model is expected to offer a fresh and competitive alternative in the entry-level SUV space.
New Mahindra XUV1XO – How will it look?
Mahindra XUV1XO when it debuts in future will have some bits borrowed from the XUV3XO, featuring C-shaped LED DRLs, LED projector headlamps, a black element with chrome lining connecting the headlamps, and a lower air intake design reminiscent of the XUV3XO. The side profile will showcase 15-inch alloy wheels, body-colored door handles, functional roof rails, pillar-mounted door handles, and square-shaped wheel arches. The rear profile will likely include XUV3X0-like tail lamps but not with connected looks. The overall length of the SUV is likely to be around 3.8 Meters.
For the interiors, the layout could be reminiscent to the XUV3XO, but only the top-spec variant may get the 10.25-inch Infotainment System and Digital Cluster. On top it’ll get the Single-Pane Sunroof, dual-tone theme for the cabin, centre console may see some tweak, etc.
New Mahindra XUV1XO – Engine Options
Under the hood, the XUV1XO is expected to be powered by a 1.2 L turbo petrol engine derived from the lower trims of the XUV3XO. This means it will not have the 128 BHP and 230-250 NM torque of its predecessor but will instead feature 109.96 BHP and 200 NM torque, paired with a 6-speed manual and an automatic (AMT) gearbox. It is unlikely that Mahindra will offer a diesel option for this SUV.
