Mahindra has officially teased the updated Scorpio N, hinting at a major feature upgrade. The teaser video shared by the brand includes glowing lane visuals with the caption “Power always stays on course,” strongly pointing towards the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This significant update is expected to elevate the SUV’s positioning in the market and make it more appealing to both Indian and international buyers.
The biggest highlight of this upcoming update is the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS. Features expected under this suite include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, blind spot detection, pedestrian alert, cross traffic alert, and high beam assist.
This addition is not only aimed at strengthening its segment presence but also complying with safety regulations in export markets like Australia, where AEB has been mandatory since 2023. While Mahindra managed to continue sales in Australia without these features temporarily, the inclusion of ADAS will now ensure long-term compliance.
Along with ADAS, Mahindra is also expected to upgrade the feature list inside the cabin. The updated Scorpio N could get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, and possibly even ventilated seats in the second row for 6-seater variants. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof is also likely to be introduced for the first time in this SUV.
Despite the feature-rich update, Mahindra is unlikely to change the powertrain options. The SUV will continue with the same engine choices—a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine producing up to 200 bhp and 380 Nm, and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine delivering up to 172 bhp and 400 Nm. Transmission options will remain unchanged with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, with select variants continuing to offer 4X4 capability.
While Mahindra hasn’t revealed an exact launch date, the teaser indicates that the updated Scorpio N will arrive soon. The SUV has enjoyed immense popularity since its debut in 2022, registering over 1 lakh bookings within just 30 minutes of opening. Branded as the ‘Big Daddy’ of SUVs, the Scorpio N has carved a strong identity with its road presence and performance.
With this update, Mahindra aims to future-proof the Scorpio N, offering tech upgrades that align it more closely with customer expectations in the Rs. 20 lakh+ SUV space and meet international regulatory standards.
The updated Mahindra Scorpio N is gearing up to be a more feature-packed and safer offering without changing its core mechanical DNA. By adding Level 2 ADAS and premium interior enhancements, Mahindra is setting the stage to further strengthen the SUV’s appeal in both domestic and export markets.
