Mahindra has been again spied testing its upcoming new SUV, Thar Armada on the roads. The SUV is set to come with big features which its rivals doesn’t even have. Let’s break it down for you.
2024 Mahindra Thar Armada: Exterior
The Mahindra Thar Armada is getting bigger updates compared to the 3-Door Thar. These include a new H pattern front grille, circular LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) inside them, a front bumper made of hard plastic, and a more upright hood. Additionally, it’ll feature extra doors on both sides with square windows, step-up side plates, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a single-pane sunroof on top. The tailgate opens towards the sides with the 18-inch spare wheel-mounted, and also the rear features the same tail-lamps as the 3-door except they are LEDs, even the indicators are LEDs.

2024 Mahindra Armada: Interior
The dashboard design of the Armada has been seen multiple times in the spy shots and it appears it’ll be reminiscent to the 3-door version. The Armada will have new dual 10.25-inch screens – one for infotainment and the other for digital cluster similar to XUV3XO; the controls for air conditioning will be operated using rotary dials that look similar to before. The steering wheel resembles the one found in the XUV700 SUV.
Notably, there is a camera module in the top center of the windshield suggesting ADAS for the SUV enhancing safety of the occupants. A new feature in the SUV is an armrest for the driver, along with a center armrest for storing small items and two cupholders in front. Additionally, the seats will have new black and brown leather upholstery to give a more luxurious feel. Moreover there is a possibility the front row seats are equipped with ventilation providing more comfort and pleasure.

The Thar Armada will get two engine options which are taken from the Scorpio-N SUV, except the output won’t be the same, it’ll be lowered down by few percentage. The 2.2 L Diesel and 2.0 L Turbo Petrol Engine will be the options available with 6 Speed Manual (MT) and Automatic (AT) during launch.
2024 Mahindra Thar Armada: Features
When it comes to Features, it’ll sport 10.25-inch infotainment system with wired Apple Carplay and wireless Android Auto, Automatic Climate Control, Single-Pane Sunroof, 10.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, 19-inch alloy wheels, Full LED Setup, hill assist, hill descent control, traction control, Disc Brakes for all wheels, Limited Slip Differential, 360 Surround View Camera, and more importantly, Level 2 ADAS with full XUV700-like functions.
2024 Mahindra Thar Armada: Price and Rivals
As for launch, Mahindra will be launching the Thar Armada on August 15th, 2024, which is the same day they launched the 3-door version; and upon on its launch, it’ll rival the 5 Door Maruti Jimny, and the upcoming 5 Door Force Gurkha. We expect Mahindra to price the Thar Armada from Rs. 15 Lakhs.
