Maruti Suzuki has just launched a new car with 6 Airbags as safety standard feature!

Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the 2025 Celerio by introducing six airbags as standard across all variants. While it’s not mandatory to have six airbags as standard, several automakers are voluntarily enhancing safety features in their entry-level models. This update has resulted in a price hike of up to Rs. 32,500, with revised prices applicable immediately.

Maruti Celerio: Improved Safety Package

Earlier, the Celerio was equipped with dual front airbags as standard. With this latest upgrade, side and curtain airbags have been added, improving passenger safety. Other safety features in the Celerio include hill hold assist for AMT variants, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), front ventilated disc brakes, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system, impact-sensing auto door unlock, and pedestrian protection.

With the addition of six airbags, the Celerio could achieve better scores in Global NCAP crash tests. The previous-generation model tested in 2016 received zero stars in Adult Safety and one star in Child Safety, mainly due to the absence of airbags.

New Maruti Celerio Prices

Due to the safety upgrade, prices of the Celerio have increased across all variants, except for the ZXi AMT, which remains unchanged. Here is the revised price list:

Maruti Suzuki has also recently introduced a special edition Celerio featuring a body kit worth Rs. 11,000, aimed at enhancing its styling appeal.

Engine and Performance

The 2025 Maruti Suzuki Celerio retains its 1.0 L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 65 bhp power and 89 Nm torque. It is available with a 5 speed manual transmission or an AMT. The Celerio also offers a CNG variant, which delivers better fuel efficiency while keeping running costs low
