Next 3 Months will be crucial as we’ll be seeing launch of 2 New Mid-Size SUV which are going to get big upgrades over their ICE version!
In the next three months, Tata and Mahindra are set to introduce two new mid-size electric SUVs with significant upgrades over their ICE counterparts. While Mahindra recently unveiled the BE.6 and XEV.9e, with deliveries yet to begin, Tata’s Curvv.ev is already on sale and performing well. Now, let’s take a closer look at these upcoming electric SUVs from both brands.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata showcased the production-ready Harrier EV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, featuring several enhancements over its earlier prototype. This electric version of the Harrier brings new technology and segment-first features, including “Summon Mode,” which allows the SUV to drive itself toward the user, eliminating the need to walk to the vehicle. Visually, the Harrier EV gets a closed front grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, .ev badging on the tailgate and front doors. Inside, the cabin retains the familiar layout of the ICE model but now features a white-themed interior for a more premium feel.
In terms of performance, Tata has confirmed that the Harrier EV will produce 500 Nm of torque and feature an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system. Additional features include new terrain modes, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging, along with other exclusive additions.
The Harrier EV is set to launch by March 2025, directly competing with the Mahindra XEV.9e.
Mahindra XEV.7e
Mahindra XEV.7e is expected to be launched by April 2025 with looks similar to the XUV700 (ICE), and an 7-Seater alternative over the XEV.9e which is limited to 5-Seater configuration only. XEV.7e boasts closed front grille, huge connected L-shape DRLs, vertically-positioned split LED Headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Tail-lamps same as XUV700. Inside, the dashboard will look same as XEV.9e, triple 12.3-inches displays, new 2-spoke steering with logo illumination, variable ratio for better control, panoramic sunroof on top, captain seats in 2nd row for 6-seater trims, etc.
The XEV.7e will likely have the same 59 and 79 kWh battery pack giving it range between 500 – 650+ KMs. It’s capable of charging at speeds of upto 175 kW DC Fast Charger. Features-wise it should have all the features from the XEV.9e, but also have ventilated seats for rear 2nd row seats [6-Seater trim], and few more features.
