Honda Cars India has introduced a new limited-run version of its popular mid-size sedan – the Honda City Sport Edition – priced at Rs 14.88 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the petrol CVT variant, this special edition adds unique cosmetic upgrades to the exterior and interior while retaining the mechanical package of the regular City. The new edition aims to attract younger buyers who desire a more stylish and exclusive version of the City sedan.
The Honda City Sport Edition stands out with its dark-themed cosmetic upgrades. The wide chrome trim at the front has been replaced by a glossy black strip, while the front grille also gets blacked out for a more aggressive look. Additional sporty touches include black outside rearview mirrors, a black trunk lip spoiler, and a glossy black shark fin antenna. A subtle yet distinctive ‘Sport’ emblem is placed on the boot lid, enhancing the overall sporty character of the sedan. The sedan also comes equipped with sporty grey-finished multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Honda City Sport continues its dark theme with all-black leatherette seats featuring red contrast stitching. The interior also receives red accent inserts on the dashboard and door panels, along with blackened roof liner, pillar trims, and AC vents. Enhancing the cabin’s ambience is the 7-colour rhythmic ambient lighting system, which adds to the premium and sporty appeal of the sedan.
Under the hood, there are no changes to the powertrain. The City Sport is powered by the 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine, capable of delivering 119 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. The engine is E20 fuel compatible and is paired with a CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters, offering a smooth and responsive driving experience. The fuel efficiency remains a claimed 18.4 kmpl.
As part of its standard features, the Honda City Sport continues to offer the Honda Sensing suite, which includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, and more. These features enhance both safety and driving comfort, making it a well-rounded choice for daily drives and highway cruising.
The Honda City Sport Edition is available in Radiant Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl, with the latter carrying an additional cost.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., said:
“The new City Sport has been crafted to meet the aspirations of young buyers who value individuality and a spirited driving experience. It embodies a perfect blend of sporty exterior and interior style, fun to drive performance and the everyday usability that Honda City is known for, at a price that makes it even more compelling.”
With its refreshed appearance and premium touches, the Honda City Sport Edition is aimed at customers who want a sedan that stands out without compromising on reliability, comfort, and drivability.
