New Zen 2018 is coming as Maruti’s Compact SUV;Launch Soon

Maruti Zen,launched in india in 1993 as a small hatchback was one of the successful cars.This small hatch received many updates during it’s tenure.Now in 2018,Maruti has decided to launch it’s upcoming and very much teased Vitara brezza younger sibling.And to much of our anticipation,we have got the name and it is Maruti Zen.New Zen 2018 was showcased at Auto Expo 2018 in the form of Concept Future-S,which is also the production model developed in house by Maruti Suzuki.

Exterior

New Zen 2018 will be based on HEARTECT platform.The front of the compact SUV has a upright stance.It has got sleeker headlamps along with large front bumpers with silver skit plates and twin vents which are surrounded by white accents.White border further cover the headlamps above the suzuki badging.This concept trim has pillar less doors.Although the wheels in this model are of 18-inch,but when launched it is expected to sit on 15-inch or 16-inch alloys.Like the front,white highlight surrounds the twin U-shaped tail light.Rear bumper is wide with large silver skid plates.Although the Vitara brezza is very different from it’s actual concept model,we can expect some compromises and cut-outs in Maruti’s New Zen.Also Read:Top 10 things you need to know about New Ertiga

Interior

The cabin of New Zen 2018 features cream coloured interior along with orange accents on seats,dash and other elements.Furthermore,it will get a 3-spoke flat bottomed steering wheel with orange finish.2 cup holders at the front,front USB charger and map pockets are comfort features on offer.Rear armrest would be offered on higher trims.Front seat headrest are adjustable.This car may miss out on rear blower.New Zen will fits a stylish circular Touchscreen Infotainment System on black centre console.

Engine Options

The New Zen 2018 will be powered by 1.2L,K-Series Petrol Engine and may ditch the old-ageing 1.3L,Fiat Sourced Diesel Engine,while moving towards new 1.5L Diesel engine,which will also power New Ertiga.There is also a possibility of introduction of hybrid technology or full electric unit as Maruti Suzuki has announced the introduction of their first electric car by 2020.Also Read:Upcoming Maruti Cars in India in 2018-19

While there is no confirmation regarding the launch date of Zen,but will be launched by the end of the year or early 2019.
