Honda Cars India Limited had launched the fifth-generation Honda CR-V in India at a introductory price of Rs. 28.15 Lakhs for the petrol engine.First time CR-V has got a diesel engine.The 2WD diesel variant has a price tag of Rs. 30.65 Lakhs while the top-spec AWD diesel model costs RS. 32.75 Lakhs (Prices,Ex-Showroom,Delhi).
5th generation CR-V has received subtle changes in terms of exterior looks but maintains its roots.It now comes with a new grille with the use of chrome accents in bulk.New sleek and sharp LED headlamps further adds to the styling.The rear of the SUV features a new design for the boot as well as the bumper.
Honda CR-V has received a 5 star rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash test.Fourth-generation of CR-V was launched 5 years ago.Not only CR-V gets reworked exterior design and add-on features but also grows big in dimensions.The SUV is now 47 mm long as compared to its previous generation. plus the wheelbase of CR-V receive an increment of 40 mm.This has resulted in more space in the second row. Honda India is offering 7-seater layout model only for the diesel model while the petrol engine will get only a 5-seater layout.
2018 New Honda CR-V is powered by a set of engines.First is the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine which outputs 118 BHP @ 4,000 RPM with a peak torque of 300 NM @ 2,000 RPM.Petrol variant misses out on AWD and is paired to a CVT gearbox.
The second engine is the all new 1.6-litre 1597 cc 4 cylinder i-DTEC diesel engine making 118 BHP @ 4,000 RPM and a maximum torque of 300 NM @ 2,000 RPM.This new engines is mated to a new 9-speed Automatic gearbox.The diesel model is offered in both front wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
This generation of CR-V has grabbed many modern features and connectivity options including 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple Carplay, Android Auto but misses out on Navigation.A faux wood trim gives the cabin a premium look.
Standard safety features offered on New CR-V 2018 includes ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, ISOFIX Child Mounts, Seatbelt pre-tensioners, Driver Attention Monitor, 6 Airbags, Hill Start Assist and Vehicle Stability Control.CR-V has also got 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests.
2018 New Honda CR-V competes directly with Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq and indirectly with Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
