Ford Figo Facelift will be launching in India on March 15,2019.But before the launch, the new hatchback interior as well as exterior has been spied without camouflage.Before this also, a CNG variant has also been spotted testing.
The Figo Facelift will get cosmetic updates and the hatchback will be similar to the Aspire sedan from the front end. Like the Aspire, it features a honeycomb mesh grille, bigger 15-inch wheels.Instead of chrome, Ford has used black accents on grille, bumper as well as the headlights.While the design of headlamps looks exactly same as that of Freestyle hatchback.
Changes to the rear included reworked rear bumper as well as redesigned tail lamps which again looks quite similar to that of Freestyle.Like the front bumper, rear bumper also gets black inserts to make it look more appealing.No doubt Figo looks much more stylish than before.This variant in images is the Titanium diesel.
Ford Figo 2019 will be offered with two powertrains – 1.2-litre dragon series 3 cylinder petrol unit making 96 PS of power and 120 NM of torque mated to a manual gearbox.A 1.5 L petrol motor is also likely to be offer which will draw power from 6-speed automatic gearbox.This engine derived from Ecosport develops 123 PS of power and 150 NM of torque.Diesel unit will be the 1.5-litre one 4 cylinder one churning 100 PS of maximum power and 215 NM of peak torque.Like the petrol engine, this variant comes only in 5 speed manual option.Fuel efficiency will remain the same as that of old Figo.A CNG variant will also be there.
Interior of the Ford Figo 2019 will be loaded with all the bells and whistles.Major addition in the cabin is the new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, navigation and Ford’s SNYC3 technology.Similar to Aspire, it gets new centre console as well as dashboard.The gear knob and steering gets piano black treatment.
Key features of Figo 2019 includes Automatic headlamps, automatic climate control, auto rain sensing wipers, reverse parking camera among others.If Ford decides to offer 1.5 petrol automatic option, then it would come with traction control, hill start assist as well as electronic stability programme.
While ABS with EBD, Dual Airbags, High Speed Alert System, Rear Parking Sensors, Engine Immobilizer, Driver and Passenger Seatbelt Reminder are expected to remain standard, the top end Titanium Plus model will feature 6 airbags, auto dimming IRVM and emergency assistance.
Ford Figo Facelift will rival the likes of Indian Car of the Year 2019, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.The prices of 2019 Figo are expected to start from Rs. 5.2 Lakhs and go upto Rs. 7.5 Lakhs for the top spec trim.The old Ford Figo falls in the price bracket of Rs. 5.61 Lakhs and Rs. 8.25 Lakhs (Prices, Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
