2019 Hyundai Elite i20 launched with new features and new variants – Magna+ and Sportz+.
Hyundai India has updated its premium and one of the highest selling variant, Elite i20.2019 Elite i20 has received changes in the variant lineup as well as a number of features has been provided across the range.This was actually required as Baleno Facelift which is coming in a few days of time will have a long list of features right from the Sigma variant.So lets begin what are changes made to the variants and also covering new add-on features.
The Era variant oF Elite i20 doesn’t receive a change in the name.2019 Elite i20 Base Era MT model now get parking sensors as well as Eco Coating technology, which means these features will be standard across the range of Elite i20 2019.Next comes the Magna Exceutive model which will now be called as Magna+ model.This variant gets a number of equipments like bluetooth, steering wheel mounted audio controls, voice recognition.On the outside, it gets chrome grille.Other prominent features of Magna Plus includes keyless entry along with LED DRLs, fog lamps, rear parking sensors.
The third variant of 2018 Elite i20 – Sportz have been renamed.Rather, the sportz and asta trim has been combined in 2019 and given the name – Sportz+.2019 Elite i20 Sportz+ gets chrome grille surround, rear parking sensors with camera. Sliding front armrest and tilt and telescopic steering wheel column.It also gets Arkmys AVN system with mobile connectivity.15-inch gunmetal alloys are offered in Sportz+ single tone variant while if you opt for dual tone Sportz+ then you get 16-inch diamond cut alloys.Sportz+ CVT and dual tone gets segment first wireless charging which Hyundai has also recently added to XCent.Dual tone Sportz+ also gets adjustable rear seat headrests and black ORVMs.
Now comes the top-spec trim of 2019 Hyundai elite i20.The top variant Asta(O) trim variant doesn’t get much changes.It now gets CVT gearbox and also class leading wireless charging.CVT gearbox is now only offered on Sportz+ and Asta(O) while it misses out on base era model and magna+ trim as well.
No changes have been made under the hood.It will be offered with the same engine options – 1.2-litre petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox and powerful 1.4-litre diesel CRDi unit making 90 BHP of power and 220 NM of torque.Diesel variants are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.The 1.2-litre VTVT engine churns 82 BHP and 115 NM of torque.
