After updating the Ecosport, Figo, Aspire, Freestyle, Ford India have finally launched the BS VI compliant Endeavour SUV in India.It comes in 3 trims – Titanium 4×2, Titanium Plus 4×2 and Titanium Plus 4×4.It has been launched at a base price of Rs. 29.55 Lakhs for the standard Titanium 4×2 variant while Titanium+ 4×2 automatic costs Rs. 31.55 Lakhs and the top end all wheel drive Titanium+ is priced at Rs. 33.25 Lakhs (All Prices, Ex Showroom).These introductory prices are valid upto April 30, which means the customers who book the SUV within the next two months will get the flagship SUV at this special price after which the prices will go up by Rs. 70,000.

Ford Endeavour has got away from the earlier used 2.2 L and 3.2 L Diesel engines by replacing it with smaller 2.0 L diesel unit as the cost of upgrading the former engines to BS6 compliance would lead to a big hike in the overall cost.The new 2.0 L 4 cylinder EcoBlue turbo diesel mill churns out 167 BHP @ 3500 RPM and 420 NM @ 2000 – 2500 RPM of peak torque.It gets mated to 10 speed automatic transmission unit and gets claimed Fuel efficiency of 13.9 kmpl for rear wheel drive variants and for the top end Titanium+ 4WD, it is 12.4 kmpl.
Changes have been made to the outside including redesigned headlamps which are in square design and all LED.The side fender comes with Endeavour lettering instead of the engine capacity.No changes have been made inside the cabin except the new gearbox unit.It is offered in 3 exterior colour schemes – Diffused Silver, Diamond White, and Absolute Black.
The second generation Ford Endeavour in BS6 era comes with 3 years and 1 lakh kms warranty and features all 4 disc brakes.It rides on 265 / 80 R18 alloy wheels.The length, width, height are 4903 mm, 1869 mm and 1837 mm respectively.While the boot space is 430 L and ground clearance is 225 mm.
Some of the top features of the flagship SUV by Ford India are Ford Pass connected car technology with 55 features, panoramic sunroof, 18 inch alloys, powered front seats, push start stop button with smart keyless entry, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto, Apple Carplay, navigation, voice commands, 10 speaker system, cruise controls, ambient lighting, auto parking.
Top safety features list includes rear defogger, rain sensing automatic wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, electronic stability programme, traction control system, hill start assist, reverse parking camera with front and rear parking sensors, 7 airbags, auto dimming inside rear view mirror.
Ford Endeavour SUV rivals the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Mahindra Alturas G4 and will get a new rival in this year’s festive season in the form of MG Gloster.
