2020 Hyundai Creta Spied Testing once again, to get major changes

Hyundai Creta was launched in India back in 2015.Since then, it is one of the most selling SUVs of India and has no proper challenger till now as well.In last year only, it has received a facelift in the form of exterior and interior updates with certain features add-on.During its life cycle, Creta has been updated quite a lot of times.

Recently, next generation Creta was spied testing in its homeland and once again it has been seen testing.This time we have a got a look at the rear section of the SUV.It was also showcased at Shanghai Auto 2019 and will also be seen at Auto Expo 2020.

There will be a number of design upgrades to keep it refreshing and upmarket.The design has been completely overhauled with modern elements.Upfront, it gets cascading design grille with chrome surrounds, LED DRLs and dual LED projector headlamps and LED fog lamps.

Both at the front and rear are faux skid plates with air intakes at the front as well.A Pillar is in all black while full body cladding enhance the overall look of the SUV.The wheel size is expected to remain the same while the design is quite similar to that seen on Venue’s top model.These 17 inch alloys will also make to 2020 Verna as well.

2020 new Creta India

There are sleek roof rails while the roof is in contrasting colour which suggests that New Creta will be getting a variety of dual tone exterior colour themes just like Kia Seltos.At the rear, Hyundai will be making use of very sleek and modern elements.The two tail lights have been connected through a black strip.The rear is also slightly raised up as well.

In terms of dimensions, new gen Creta will surely grow up.Boot space will be increasing while the ground clearance is also expected to up.Slight changes in width and height would be made to make more space inside the cabin.The ride and handling quality along with suspension will be better in 2020 Hyundai Creta.

Creta is currently build up on HIVE platform made up of AHSS and HSS while the upcoming Creta launching in India in 2020 will be based on the platform that is going to underpin Kia Seltos.This platform is basically the advanced version or you can say the second generation platform of which currently underpinning the Creta.

It is the interior of the cars in which Hyundai India have no rival and the upcoming Creta’s interior will be very futuristic and premium.It will get much bigger seats.The door handles would be sleek in design.The steering wheel which will house plenty of control will be a new one as well.

The main highlight will be the waterfall type touchscreen infotainment system which is quite similar to that of Tesla.It will be around 12 inch in size and will be loaded with modern tech like android auto, Apple Carplay, mirror link, navigation, blue link and will also have controls for air con as well.To give a sense of premiumness.Hyundai will make minimum use of buttons.

The instrument cluster will be all new and expected to be all digital.Dual tone upholstery is used with perfect use of piano black finish all around.For better space and comfort, there will be front and rear armrest with storage with small spaces on all doors as well.There won’t be any hand brake either as it would make way to electronic parking brakes and the centre console will house a number of controls as well as having quite a lot of space as well.

Coming to the features, new Creta will derive features from upcoming Kia Seltos.It will get Blue Link technology, digital instrument cluster, steering mounted bluetooth, voice commands and cruise controls, UV cut glass, driver and passenger seat electrically adjustable, 3 adjustable headrests for rear passengers, heads up display, smart air purifier, sound mood lighting, 8 speakers and subwoofer, rear reclinable seats, front ventilated seats, electric sunroof and wireless charging.

In terms of safety, it will get host of equipments including 7 airbags, all 4 disc brakes, traction control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, hill descent control, automatic headlamps, rain sensing auto wipers, ABS with EBD, high speed alert system, follow me home headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring system, 360 degree camera with blind spot detection, front and rear parking sensors.

It would be deriving engine options from Kia Seltos.It will be powered by 1.5 petrol and Diesel engines mated to two different types of automatic transmission.There would be a 1.4 L turbo GDI variant as well which gets option for 6 speed manual and 7 speed DCT option.All these engines will much more fuel efficient than Creta’s current powertrains and will be BS-VI compliant as well.

At present, Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs. 10 Lakhs and Rs. 15.65 Lakhs (Price, Ex Showroom).With the launch of new Creta, comes quite a few interior, exterior, features and safety upgrades, so the price will go premium by a big margin.The base petrol model is expected to be priced at Rs. 11 Lakhs with the top end diesel automatic costing in India around Rs. 17.6 Lakhs (Prices, Ex Showroom).

Hyundai Creta 2020 will be showcased in India at Auto Expo 2020 along with other Hyundai vehicles and after this it will be launched in March or April 2020.While the variant launching in March 2020, will be a 5 seater version, Hyundai is also working on a 7 seater model of next generation Creta which will be making way to India in the later half of next year.

No doubt Hyundai Creta has been successful over the years and Kia Seltos which is features loaded SUV receiving a good response in the market, we expect that the next generation Creta will surely be a killer in its segment once again.Surely, it is worth waiting for 2020 Hyundai Creta.

New Generation Creta would be competing with the likes of Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
