New gen Mahindra Scorpio will be one of the biggest launch of the year. The introduction of the SUV has been delayed multiple times and the latest video vouches for of the SUV launch in next couple of months.
Codenamed Z101, Scorpio has been designed by Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) and engineered at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV). It will be sold alongside the current iteration of the cult SUV.
New Scorpio will feature newly designed LED projector lights, fog lamps with DRLs and updated front grille. Design of alloys looks snazzy while at rear tail lamps, still vertically aligned, are a bigger unit now.
Also, the SUV will grow in terms of dimensions as well resulting in more space on the inside. Underpinned by all new ladder on frame architecture, same as that of Thar, Scorpio 2022 will set new standards.
Like the XUV700, Scorpio will have a plush black and brown interior theme. Piano black elements will be used in abundance. Steering wheel unit like XUV700 with new logo, 9” infotainment system with all the bells & whistles, new instrument cluster, forward facing seats will be the major changes.
Auto wipers, Projector headlamps, 7” touchscreen, auto ac are current top features.
Now the new gen will be loaded with equipments like 6 airbags, TPMS, cruise control, 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof, rear disc brakes, connected car tech, wireless android auto, apple CarPlay.

Apart from more powerful diesel unit with manual and automatic gearbox, Mahindra will also make the SUV available with 2.0 L mStallion petrol engine.
2022 Mahindra Scorpio will see a price hike over the current spec SUV. Launch is expected to take place somewhere next month. The carmakers will also bring electric version of their KUV100NXT car by year end.
