KTM 390 Adventure X vs BMW G 310 GS – Design

At the front of the G 310 GS, it uses a circular V-shape LED headlamp with an LED DRL into the headlamp and on top of it is the adjustable windshield. The G 310 GS rides on Upside Down Fork suspension at the front, and Cast Aluminium dual swing arm, central spring strut, spring pre-load adjustable suspension at the rear. It uses cast aluminium wheels at the front and rear. At the rear it LED taillamps with LED indicators.

The Adventure X has a split LED headlamps with LED DRLs at the sides of the headlamps and LED indicators both at the front and rear. The Adventure X rides on Upside Down fork suspension at the front and shock absorber at the rear. It uses alloy wheels both at the front and at the rear and also has disc brakes front and rear as well. The Adventure at the rear has LED taillamps.

As you can see at the Dimensions table, the Adventure X has a length of 2154mm which is 79mm more than the G 310 GS 2075mm length. The Adventure X has a width of 900mm which is 20mm more than the G 310 GS width of 880mm. The Adventure X has a height of 1400mm which is 170mm more than the 1230mm height of G 310 GS. Even in saddle height, the Adventure X has 20mm more than the G 310 GS as the Adventure X got 855mm while G 310 GS got 835mm.

The Adventure X has a wheelbase of 1430mm which is just 10mm more than the 1420mm wheelbase of G 310 GS. However, the G 310 GS has a ground clearance of 220mm which is 20mm more than the Adventure X 200mm. The Adventure X however has a fuel tank capacity of 14.5 litres which is 3.5 litres more on offer than the G 310 GS 11 litres. Lastly, the kerb weight of Adventure X is 177 kg which is 7.5 kg more than the G 310 GS kerb weight of 169.5 kg.

The KTM 390 Adventure X is powered by 373.27cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, DOHC, F.I. Engine, which produces 42.31 bhp and 37 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox and has a top speed of 155 kmph. On the other hand, the BMW G 310 GS is powered by 313cc Water-cooled four-stroke single cylinder engine, double overhead camshaft, oil sump lubrication engine which produces 33.07 bhp, and 28 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox and has a top speed of 143 kmph.
