Kia Sonet Facelift: What you need to know!

Kia released a new teaser which reveals new design details compared to the leaks we’ve seen few weeks ago. So, the Indian-spec facelift model will get new tri-cube LED headlamps which are similar to the current Seltos, and a big L-shaped LED DRLs that frames the headlamp units. The front bumper has been replaced with a new bumper that houses LED Fog lamps mounted horizontally.

Jumping to the inside, we got only few seconds to see the interiors and here’s what we saw. It hasn’t changed much, and still continues to have a 10.25-inch infotainment system at the center of the dashboard, and below that is a small screen which gives climate control details along with controls for the HVAC. We barely got to fully see the instrument cluster, but thanks to the little peak, it’ll get the new digital instrument cluster which will be the same as the Seltos.

The teaser additionally confirms the Sonet will continue to have the Bose Premium Sound System along with the ambient lights. As for the seat upholstery, earlier leaks of the Indian-spec Sonet facelift revealed it’ll have brown leather upholstery for the seats and armrests in the rear.

However, the most important news is that the new Sonet Facelift will come with Level 1 ADAS which will be exactly same as the Hyundai Venue with features like Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and more. Moreover, the Sonet will continue to have 6 airbags as standard, 360 Surround View Camera, hill start assist, TPMS, ESC, Front and Rear Parking Sensors.

Lastly, in terms of Engine Options, Kia will continue to be offer the Sonet Facelift with 1.2 L NA Petrol with 81.8 BHP and 115 NM of torque paired to 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, 1.0 L Turbo Petrol with 118.35 BHP and 172 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed IMT, and 7 Speed DCT Gearbox, and lastly 1.5 L Diesel Engine with 114 BHP and 250 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed IMT and Automatic Gearbox.

Kia Sonet Facelift in this segment will be the second SUV to feature ADAS, and will rival the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Tata Nexon.
