Kia India finally unveiled the Sonet Facelift for the Indian Market, and the SUV comes with so many features that it’s going to give some serious competition to its rivals, and even SUVs above its segment. So, we thought of comparing the Sonet Facelift against its rivals to see where does the Sonet stand and how it competes!

Well, as you can see in Dimensions, the Sonet now shares the same length with Brezza, Venue, Nexon, and XUV300. The shortest length in the segment is Renault Kiger of 3991 MM. In width, the XUV300 is the widest SUV in the segment with 1821 MM width while Sonet stands at 1790 MM width being narrower by 31 MM. The tallest SUV in the segment is the Maruti Brezza with 1685 MM height while the Sonet’s height is 1642 MM being shorter by 43 MM.

The longest wheelbase in the segment is the XUV300 with 2600 MM while the Sonet features 2500 MM wheelbase which is same with Brezza, Venue, Kiger, and Magnite wheelbase. The Nexon features the highest ground clearance of 208 MM where as the lowest is from the XUV300 with 180 MM while the Sonet, Kiger, and Magnite features 205 MM ground clearance. In Boot Space, the Kiger is the biggest boot in the segment with 405 L while the Sonet features 385 L boot space making it smaller by 20 L. Lastly, the Sonet features 45 L Fuel Tank which is same as the Venue, and Brezza, and the Kiger and Magnite has 40 L Fuel Tank.

As you can see at the pricing, Kia is expected to price the Sonet Facelift at Rs. 8 Lakhs and positioned just above the Tata Nexon and below the Mahindra XUV300.
Verdict: In the end, the decision to buy which SUV depends totally on you, however, if you’re looking for an SUV that is affordable, the Nissan Magnite is a nice option for you. Recently, the Hyundai Venue got ADAS update and if you’re looking for an SUV with that, then the Venue is a good choice. Tata Motors had launch the Nexon Facelift few months ago and we thought it would be hard to top the Nexon, but if you really want the best from an SUV at an affordable price, then wait for the official launch of the Kia Sonet Facelift.
