Mahindra has been testing the Thar 5 Door for months now, and Mahindra had confirmed the 2024 launch. In this article, we’re listing the top 5 things about the off-road SUV that you should know before it official launches!
The Thar 5-Door set to receive changes like H pattern grille, new round shape LED DRLs similar to the Mercedes-Benz G- Wagon, the front bumper is made of hard plastic, and flat bonnet. From the side as you can see, it has an extra door on both sides with square windows, step-up side plate, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a single-pane sunroof on top which isn’t present on 3-door version as it’s got hard & soft-top roof that can be removed. However, the 5 Door version doesn’t have this option, and to compensate, Mahindra is adding single-pane sunroof to make up for it.
The Dashboard design of the 5-Door Thar was leaked few days ago and its the same layout as the 3-door. The 5-Door version will come with the new free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system, AC vents and dials for HVAC controls look more or less the same, and the steering wheel looks similar to the XUV700 SUV. Another new addition is the armrest for the driver, center armrest which would most likely be to store small things inside, and two cupholders in front of them. Also, it gets new black and brown leather seat upholstery for an premium feel.

The Thar 5 Door will like have the same engine options as the 3 Door version except for the 1.5 L Diesel Engine since this engine won’t be enough to supply required power to the 5 Door version.

As for launch, Mahindra had confirmed the 5 Door Thar is scheduled for launch sometime in 2024, and will rival the new recently launched 5 Door Maruti Jimny, and the upcoming 5 Door Force Gurkha. We expect Mahindra to price the Thar 5 Door from Rs. 16 Lakhs.
