Tata has finally after months of testing the electric SUV launched the Punch EV from Rs. 10.99 Lakh to Rs. 14.49 Lakh, and the bookings are already underway at a token amount of Rs. 21,000.
Tata Punch EV Launched: What You need to know!
The new Punch EV features connected LED DRLs, vertically-positioned LED headlamps, skid plates for bumper, rugged front look, and importantly, it gets front-mounted charging port that is just bel0w the light bar where Tata logo is. Moreover, the rear profile and side profile looks the same like gets X-shape LED Taillamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, and get front frunk (front boot space).

Jumping inside, the layout looks similar to the Nexon.ev like it gets new free-standing 10.25-inch Harman HD Infotainment System, and 10.25-inch Fully Digital Instrument Cluster with Navigation maps as well. The centre console has been updated with the addition of electric parking brake with auto hold function, a jeweled rotary dial for gear shifter, and new HVAC control panel with toggle switches and haptic feedback that is very similar to the Nexon.ev.
The Punch EV gets two battery pack – 25 kWh battery with 315 KM range, and 35 kWh battery with 421 KM range. It gets two AC Chargers – 3.3 kW Wall Box Charger, and 7.2 kW Fast Charger. Using a 3.3 kW AC Charger, it’ll take 9.4 Hours to charge 25 kWh battery from 10 – 100% while the same on 35 kWh battery takes 13.5 Hours. Where as on a 7.2 kW AC Charger, it takes 3.6 Hours to charge the 25 kWh battery from 10 – 100% while the same for 35 kWh battery takes 5 Hours. Moreover, both the battery pack supports 50 kW DC Fast Charging that takes 10 – 80% in 56 Minutes.
The Long Range trim drives front wheels via a single motor producing 120.3 BHP and 190 NM of torque while the standard trim produces 80.8 BHP and 114 NM of torque. Notably, the Long Range trim does 0 – 100 KMPH in 9.5 Seconds while the Standard trim takes 13.5 seconds while having a ground clearance of 190 MM.
Moving to the features, the new Punch EV gets 360 Surround View Camera, Front Ventilated Seats, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, two 10.25-inch displays, Disc Brakes for All Wheels, Multiple Voice Assistants – Alexa, Tata, and Siri, Air Purifier, new Arcade.ev App, Sunroof, Wireless Charging Pad, and so much more.
The Punch EV Standard trim has 5 trims – Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+; while the Long Range trim has 3 trims – Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.
In the end, the Punch EV competes MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3, and Tata’s own Tiago EV.
