Few Days ago, Ford had filed a design patent of the New-Gen Endeavour for the Indian Market which makes it look like Ford plans to restart its operations in India after shutting a while ago. In this article, we’re explaining the 5 things you would be keen to know about the SUV and what changes it’ll have over the discontinued version.
The front profile of the Endeavour features C-shape LED DRLs, cube-shape for Matrix LED headlamps, and below is the LED Fog Lamps. The grille has hexagonal pattern with chrome surrounds, and a chrome between the grille that appears as a junction between the headlamps unit. The bumper is made up of skid plates, rectangular panel for ADAS, and an upright hood giving better road visibility. The side profile features creases on the body, chrome door handles, Endeavour badging on the fender, functional roof rails on top, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear section gets L-shape connected tail lamps, roof spoilers, and carbon finish for the rear bumper.

The cabin features black leather upholstery, vertically-positioned 12-inch infotainment system, vertically-positioned AC vents with wavy pattern, panoramic sunroof on top, 4-spoke steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, round dials to control the infotainment and HVAC. The centre console features space for cupholders, round knob for drive modes, new gear shifter known as e-shifter, fixed centre armrest with little storage space inside. The second-row has bench seats split in 60:40 ratio, and third row split in 50:50 ratio.

The Ford Endeavour before it got discontinued was powered by the 2.0 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine producing 167 BHP and 420 NM torque paired to 10 Speed Automatic Gearbox with Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD), and 4-Wheel-Drive (4WD) Drive-type. However, when the new Endeavour launches in India, it’s likely it’ll be getting two diesel engine options – 2.0 L Diesel with Single Turbo engine producing 167 BHP. However, the torque output went down to 405 NM and it gets 6 Speed Automatic Gearbox only with RWD or 4×2 drive type. Another new engine is the 2.0 L Bi-Turbo Diesel Engine producing 201 BHP and 500 NM of torque mated to 10 Speed Automatic Gearbox for the 4-Wheel-Drive or 4×4 Drive Type.
The new Fortuner will be getting features like 360 Surround View Camera, 12-inch infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, Matrix LED headlamps, Dual-zone climate control, 8-way Power Adjustable for front seats, Traction Control System, Power Folding Seats, Park Assist 2.0, Terrain Management System, 7 Airbags, and many more. Moreover, it gets Level 2 ADAS like Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering, Auto High beam, Lane Departure Warning, and so on.
Well, before the Ford Endeavour got discontinued, it was priced between Rs. 30 – Rs. 36.27 Lakh with 4 Trims – Titanium 4×2, Titanium+ 4×2, Titanium+ 4×4, and Sport Edition. However, the new Endeavour could be priced between Rs. 35 Lakhs – Rs. 42 Lakhs for the 4 new trims – Trend 4×2, Limited 4×2, Sport 4×2, Titanium+ 4×2, and Titanium+ 4×4. The new Endeavour is expected to launch in the early 2025, and upon its launch it’ll compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster.
