The 2024 Kia Carens prototype was spotted sporting noticeable five-spoke alloy wheels, likely 17 inches in size. The front fascia, reminiscent of the Kia EV5, stands out with L-shaped LED DRLs integrated within the headlamp units, connected by a sleek LED light bar. The headlamps appear to be LED projectors, with higher trims expected to offer a full LED setup. The rear profile highlights C-shaped connected LED tail lamps and subtle tweaks to both the front and rear bumpers, giving the Carens a refreshed yet familiar look.
While the interior of the facelift Carens remains under wraps, it is anticipated to draw inspiration from the Kia Seltos. Expect a free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment, new 10.25-inch fully digital cluster to dominate the dashboard, and a new Kia K4 Sedan [sold internationally] type steering wheel. The center console and dashboard are likely to see some refinements, adding to the cabin’s modern appeal. The Carens will probably continue to offer both 6 and 7-seater configurations, with top trims boasting a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with a revamped control panel, and upgraded upholstery. An electric parking brake is expected to replace the traditional manual handbrake, further enhancing convenience.

In terms of features, the Carens Facelift is set to raise the bar. Anticipated features in an MPV include a Heads-up Display (HUD), a powered co-passenger seat, 6 airbags as standard across all variants, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) for enhanced safety. Additionally, one-touch up/down functionality for all windows is expected to be included in the top trims, along with other premium conveniences.
Kia is likely to launch the ICE Carens facelift in Q4 2024, with the EV version expected in the second half of 2025.
The upcoming Kia Carens could be a serious threat to rivals like the Maruti XL6 and Ertiga. With anticipated features like a fully digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, and a panoramic sunroof, the Carens is poised to attract buyers seeking a more premium and modern MPV experience. Kia’s focus on design and technology might just reshape the competition in India’s MPV market.
