Weeks after the Clavis trademark from Kia was spotted, the real-life image of the SUV has made its way online. The Clavis will be the second compact SUV in the line-up which will sit between the Sonet and the Seltos.
Kia Clavis Spied: What You need to know!
Kia’s India-specific SUV, Clavis has been spotted undergoing tests in Korea, and these spy shots basically confirms the SUV will indeed be a compact SUV with upright stance and design. The SUV does appear to be a crossover of Soul SUV (sold internationally). However, the main giveaway that the SUV is Made-in-India is the existence of the MRF Tyres on the SUV. While the SUV is still heavily camouflaged, it reveals many interesting details like the front features L-Shape LED DRLs seen on the upcoming new Kia EVs, which may also be connected by a light bar.

The bumpers is made of skid plates, and just above the front bumper is the radar panel for ADAS which means it’ll get Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, etc. and many more features. The hood is almost flat except the nose-end is curved. The side profile indeed looks similar to the Kia Soul because of its upright stance. It’ll however get 16-inch X-like dual-tone alloy wheels, blacked out ORVMs with camera for Blind Spot Monitoring, and functional roof rails on top. Moreover, it gets panoramic sunroof which is a good news for Indian consumers.
The rear profile appears to be similar to the flagship SUV, EV9, as it features a vertically-positioned LED taillamps connected by LED light bar, and a flat tailgate. The SUV will be getting multiple powertrains – ICE, EV, and Hybrid in 2025. Notably, the Clavis will be feature-loaded such as 360 Surround View Camera, Ventilated Seats, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Wireless Charging Pad, Level 2 ADAS, LED Multi-Reflector Headlamps, Panoramic Sunroof, and so much more.
Kia is expected to globally unveil the Clavis by the end of 2024 with launch expected to take place in early 2025.
